A slight rebound in Switch and Switch Lite units sold was not enough to ensure the console, in total, retained its previous week’s momentum as sales of the Switch OLED dropped by 32.62% to close lower at 50,094 units, resulting in a total unit sold decrease of 22.03% week-over-week. As a result, the brand’s market share shrunk to 55.4% from last week’s 65.7%.
The PlayStation 5 settled at 46,830 units, 21.25% higher than the prior week, with its Digital Edition retreating by 11.35%, though not enough to cause a decline in overall sales. Total units sold climbed by 17.52% to close at 51,251 units. That said, an even stronger rebound can be expected for PlayStation 5 consoles as Final Fantasy XVI makes its debut. The bundle sold alongside the game would certainly add to its advantage.
On the other hand, the Xbox Series noted a remarkable improvement in sales for its Series S with a more than 2000% increase over last week, putting the console on a stronger footing with 12,978 units, 42.37% more than the 9,116 units it sold the week before.
The PlayStation 4 sold 27.65% fewer units, totaling 1,340 units, whereas the New 2DS LL moved up by 30.56% to 47 units.
