Overall console sales have shown great improvement week-over-week, with only two consoles falling in performance compared to the previous week. All Switch consoles have seen an increase in sales, with total units sold experiencing a 30.20% rise from 81,408 units to 105,990 units. However, this increase was not enough to expand its market share. Instead, the share has decreased from 55.4% to 52.3% compared to the previous week.
The PlayStation 5, particularly the Digital Edition, saw massive gains with a 215.99% increase week-over-week. The disc edition also contributed to the strong momentum, with a 52.50% increase. This resulted in a total of 85,385 units sold, which is 66.60% more than the previous week’s sales of 51,251 units. As a result, the console captured 42.2% of the market share. As mentioned in the previous week, this could be attributed to the release of the Final Fantasy XVI bundle, which has increased demand for the consoles.
The Xbox Series experienced a 32.76% decrease in total units sold week-over-week, with 8,727 units sold. The PlayStation 4 showed improvement, with an 81.12% increase, ending with stronger sales of 2,427 units. However, the New 2DS LL saw a decline of about 30% compared to last week’s sales of 47 units.
