Plus, all the data you find below is accessible via Oricon right here (Blu-ray) and here (DVD). To access the sales data, be sure to click on the “Analytics” accordion and then click “Chart”. This should bring you to the Google chart page that contains the latest available sales data.
Please note that Oricon’s daily surveys do not cover all stores in Japan, and some data may be missing from the list provided below. To view the list of stores that participate in Oricon’s surveys, please refer to the link provided (or the post here). If you would like to learn more about Oricon and their tracking methods, you may find additional information here. While I have manually counted the number of stores included in the list below, please be aware that there may be some errors, and not all stores are listed on official websites as many are exclusive sets listed to certain retailers. Therefore, it’s important to keep in mind that the number of stores counted may not fully reflect all retailers that sell the product.
The cutoff point on the Blu-ray general chart for the week is 724 copies, while on the DVD chart, it is 340 copies. Therefore, any releases denoted as “N/A” below have sold less than the stated amount.
Overall, Anime disc sales are on the weaker side due to a lack of new and notable releases. However, Kaguya-sama wa Kokurasetai: First Kiss wa Owaranai should have been able to achieve a stronger outcome. Unfortunately, it only managed to sell around 1,500 copies in total during its first five days for the Limited Edition. There are still a number of other editions that have been excluded by Oricon, so the actual number of copies sold should be much higher.
