The Kurosagi series emerged as the bestselling series for the month of May, generating a total of 1,093.32 million yen (≈7.88 million USD) in sales from May 1 to May 28. This success was largely attributed to the strong performance of the Blu-ray box set, released on May 10, which sold an impressive 37,080 copies within its first five days and saw the series secured the top spot on the weekly series chart for the week between May 8 and May 14. The drama series originally aired in 2022 and is an adaptation of Takeshi Natsuhara and Kuromaru’s 2003 Manga of the same name. Sales figures in this report only account for two segments: Video, which is the largest contributor, and Music.

“Oshi no Ko” is second on the list with 527.49 million yen (≈3.8 million USD) in sales for the month, amid a strong performance for its Manga volumes. Sales were quite slow at the start of the month; however, they slowed down even further the following week, as total sales plummeted by 71.27% to just 36.40 million yen (≈262.25 thousand USD), likely due to a shortage of Manga volumes. Sales rebounded significantly the week after, securing 217.30 million yen (≈1.57 million USD) in sales between May 15 and May 21, before calming down by 5.34% to 185.13 million yen (≈1.33 million USD) the following week. Its total sales are mainly supported by its Manga, with the Music segment also contributing to sales.
Ensemble Stars is next with 447.57 million yen (≈3.22 million USD) in sales, thanks to a boost from Ensemble Stars!! DREAM LIVE: 6th Tour “Synchronic Spheres” discs which sold 48,745 copies in its first five days between May 8 and May 14. The series was also listed as the second bestselling series for that week, trailing behind Kurosagi. The Video segment is the series’ strongest contributor to sales, with the Music department also accounting for a portion of the sales.
