Top Sales According to Series for the Month of April 2022

Spy x Family tops the chart as a series for the month of April at 1,370.5 million yen (≈10.51 million USD) for sales of its Books, Light Novels, and Manga. The month of April started out strong for the series seeing a great turnout of its Volume 9 between April 4 and April 10 at 606,281 copies in its first week. The Anime adaptation is evidently a major success as it has spurred demand for its past volumes which can be seen to be rather aggressive from the week between April 11 and April 17 onward, consistently placing on the Top 30 charts until the week ending May 1st. Weekly sales peak on the first week of April, but have calmed down the week after before climbing albeit a small one for the next two consecutive weeks as sales of its Manga would not let up.

It is thanks to the amazing folks over at Oricon that we get to see these charts on a weekly basis, so be sure to head over to their site here and show them lots of love! Jujutsu Kaisen is next at Number 2 with 1,351.2 million yen (≈10.36 million USD) in sales thanks to the large copies sold its 19th volume in its first week between April 4 and April 10 at 1,093,519 copies which saw the series amassing 934.6 million yen (≈7.39 million USD) for the week. Sales however, slowly calmed down the weeks after, and as of May 1, its lifetime sales for Volume 19 is at 1,491,162 copies (Regular Edition). Also, do note that the sales take into account all its Video, Music, Books, Light Novels and Manga combined.

Finally, at Number 3 is the Single “The Answer / Sachiare” performed by Naniwa Danshi (you can check out its music video below) which is featured in the Kindaichi Shounen no Jikenbo series at 806.2 million yen (≈6.18 million USD) due to great turnout of its disc sales at 535,465 copies sold in the span of 5 days. Note, like Jujutsu Kaisen, the sales take into account all its Video, Music, Books, Light Novels and Manga combined where Music is its largest contributor.
