Japan Top Weekly Video Game Ranking: May 11, 2020 ~ May 17, 2020

Sales of video games in Japan has settled down for the week between May 11 to May 17 according to Famitsu’s latest sales chart accessible here. All of the titles in the top 10 have shown a decline for the week with one exception, Dragon Quest X All-in-One Package version 1 – 5 which debuted that week at number 9. The biggest drop among the top 10 titles would be Trials of Mana. Sales have plummeted more than 50% from 12,836 copies it sold the previous week to 5,467 copies. The Switch version of however, climbed 18 spots after sitting at the bottom the week before to number 12.

There will be no percentage comparing week-to-week sales for hardware this week as previous data were based on the accumulation of two weeks worth of figures. Nevertheless, like sales of video games, hardware sales have slowed down as well. You can find the data as summarized below:

Sales of Hardware

1. Switch / 27,897 units (total sold: 11,379,561 units)
2. Switch Lite / 10,483 units (total sold: 2,214,996 units)
3. PS4 / 2,006 units (total sold: 7,588,444 units)
4. PS4 Pro / 4,235 units (total sold: 1,534,754 units)
5. Xbox One S / 12 units (total sold: 93,271 units)
6. Xbox One X / 20 units (total sold: 20,039 units)

On the other hand, 2DS and 3DS are as follows:

  • New 2DS LL / 9,55 units (total sold: 1,714,162 units)
  • New 3DS LL / 73 units (total sold: 5,887,527 units)
