Sales of Anime Blu-rays and DVDs for the latest week are not as encouraging as the week before according to Oricon’s latest charts available here (Blu-ray) and here (DVD). The chart showed at least 7 of the 10 titles in the ranking made it into the overall Blu-rays sold in Japan chart for the week between April 13, 2020 to April 19, 2020. Unfortunately, for the period of April 20, 2020 to April 26, 2020, only 4 titles made into the chart of overall Blu-rays sold in Japan. Sales of Anime DVDs are also just as lackluster.

The first placing for the week’s chart is held by Kyoto Animation’s Free! Movie 3 selling 6,000 copies for the period. The film was released back in July, 2019 and served as a recap of the Free!: Dive to the Future TV series which comes along with new scenes. Following behind is the 4K remaster of AKIRA, a Sci-fi Animation released in 1988 and the 8th volume of Ensemble Stars! settling for 3rd place. The debut of Ensemble Stars!’s volume 8 is the weakest thus far this year with volume 7 selling 3,700 copies during its release week while volume 6 and 5 sold 4,100 copies each during its debut week.
There are approximately 7 new titles expected to be released within April 27 to May 3 with Shokugeki no Souma: Shin no Sara, JoJo no Kimyou na Bouken Part 4: Diamond wa Kudakenai and Toaru Kagaku no Railgun T among them. See here for more info. Without further ado, the full list is as follows:
