The TSUTAYA chart for the week between May 9 and May 15 features a number of new and familiar faces on its list starting with Tensei Kenja no Isekai Life: Dai-2 no Shokugyou wo Ete, Sekai Saikyou ni Narimashita Volume 16 which is placed 2nd at 4 days of sales. The Manga is an adaptation of the Light Novel of the same name which first began serialization back in July 2018 via Manga UP! You can check out several of its chapters for free in Japanese right here and official English releases are also available, brought to you by Square Enix where the 1st volume is already available for purchase while the 2nd volume is slated for release this coming month of July. The Manga has also consistently placed on Oricon Top 30 sales chart since Volume 11, hitting a peak of 62,156 copies sold for its 13th volume thanks to the 5 days of sales it had at the time. However, the 11th volume could potentially be its best as of its recent volumes having sold 47,900 copies in just 3 days. You can expect copies sold at around 50,000 or more for its 16th volume, and with its Anime adaptation already announced set to commence this Summer (in July), we may see a small boost. In the meantime, do check out its Anime second teaser promotional video down below!
Then, at Number 5 is another Manga adaptation of a Light Novel of the same name, Tensei shitara Dainana Ouji Datta node, Kimama ni Majutsu wo Kiwamemasu makes its debut with Volume 7 in its first 7 days. The Manga has made appearances on the Oricon’s Top 30 sales charts with the 5th volume charting at 38,338 copies sold in its first 6 days while Volume 6 made a recent appearance on the chart between February 7 and February 13 at 43,720 copies sold in its first 5 days. The series was also ranked 8th on the Next Manga Awards 2021 for the Web Manga Category. The serialization of the Manga began in June 2020 through Kodansha’s Magazine pocket with some of its chapters can be read for free in Japanese while in English, it is being digitally published by Kodansha with the first five volumes currently up for grabs.

Kawaii dake ja Nai Shikimori-san Volume 13 is next at Number 6 with 7 days of sales. In terms of its domestic performance, copies sold have had its ups and downs, peaking for Volume 7 which had 44,822 copies sold in its first 3 days, but dwindled soon after before rising up again for Volume 11. Note that Volume 9 sales is based on an estimate as it did not manage to breach the Top 30 chart at the time. Kawaii dake ja Nai Shikimori-san is having its TV Anime adaptation being broadcasted this season and that may contribute to a boost of its Manga sales, particularly for Volume 13. I predict copies sold for the volume would hover between 65,000 copies to 75,000 copies. You can also check out several of its chapters in Japanese for free through Magazine pocket, but if it is the official English releases that you want, fret not as Kodansha Comics has released up to Volume 9 with the 10th volume expecting to hit shores this coming August.

Adapted from its Light Novel of the same name, it began its serialization journey in June 2020 and can be found via Kodansha’s Magazine pocket with several of its chapters available for reading for free. And like Tensei shitara Dainana Ouji Datta node, Kimama ni Majutsu wo Kiwamemasu, the series was also placed on the Next Manga Awards 2021’s Web Manga Category at Number 18. You can expect copies sold at around 30,000 or more for Volume 7.
