Tensei shitara Slime Datta Ken Volume 20 places 1st on TSUTAYA’s weekly sales chart for the week between March 7 and March 13 and at 5 days of sales, we are likely to see higher copies sold compared to its 19th volume back in December 2021 (it had 4 days of sales then). Copies sold have seen a continuous uptrend, observable through the 4-day sales of Volumes 15, 18 and 19. Volume 14 had 251,341 copies sold back in July 2020, and Volume 18 improved that number by 2.65% to 258,192 copies. Volume 19 then saw a further increase of 11.02% from sales of Volume 18 to 290,157 copies. Note that the title’s 5-day sales recorded for Volumes 13 and 17 put it at 245,001 copies and 322,239 copies sold respectively. Considering the number of days of sales that Volume 20 has, and its recent performance, we can expect copies sold higher than 320,000 copies. The series is also slated to receive an original film this year in November. If you missed out on the trailer, do check it out below.
At Number 3 is Grand Blue’s 18th volume. Copies sold for the series experienced a short decline between Volume 13 and Volume 15, but recovered for Volume 17 which in August 2021 sold 92,431 copies in its first 4 days. This is however still less than the 101,488 copies sold for Volume 12. We can expect a big turnout for Volume 18 as it will have 7 days of sales on the chart, and with few heavyweight titles on the chart for the week, copies sold should be able to push above 100,000 copies sold. The Manga by author, Kenji Inoue and artist, Kimitake Yoshioka began serialization through good! Afternoon magazine in April 2014. In July 2018, it received a 12-episode Anime adaptation by studio Zero-G. So far, no sequel announcement for the Anime is in sight. The title is also out officially in English with up to sixteen volumes available, published by KODANSHA COMICS.
All of the data you find below is all thanks to TSUTAYA, one of Japan’s largest bookstores chain which has around 1,200 stores in its local market. You can check out their website here and show them lots of love! Plus, for the week’s chart, you can find it through the link right here. Head a spot below, and you will find Yuru Camp△ Volume 13 at 4 days of sales. Copies sold for its past volumes despite the slowdown are still great nevertheless. Volume 9 managed to push out 88,980 copies sold in its first 3 days whereas Volumes 10 and 11 sold 100,948 copies and 106,827 copies respectively in their first 4 days. Volume 12 however slowed down even though it was on the chart for a full week at 125,464 copies. Volume 13 should see a turnout similar to Volume 10 and 11, as such, we can expect it to sell roughly 100,000 copies sold or more. The title has received multiple Anime adaptations with the first season airing back in 2018, followed by the second season in January 2021. In October of 2018, the Anime was announced to be receiving a film which is set to be released this coming July the 1st. FuRyu also released a short commercial video of the film a few months ago, so do have a look at it down below!
Number 6 places Satoru Nii’s Wind Breaker Volume 6. The title was last seen for its 4th volume at 37,992 copies sold in the first 6 days. The title is currently serialized via Magazine pocket by Kodansha with some of its chapters readable for free in Japanese right here. The Manga adaptation of Koko wa Ore ni Makasete Saki ni Ike to Itte kara 10-nen ga Tattara Densetsu ni Natteita. is 7th with its 8th volume, and began serialization in 2019 through Manga UP! At Number 8 is a title you may be familiar with if you have watched it on Netflix. Gokushufudou or The Way of the Househusband in English settles in with its 9th volume. Its past volumes’ performances have been very promising with copies sold above 100,000 copies recorded for its 6th volume in its first 7 days. Volume 9’s 5-day sales should put it between sales of Volumes 7 and 8, as such a turnout of around 70,000 copies and above is very plausible.
Uzaki-chan wa Asobitai! Volume 8 is next at Number 11. The title is no stranger to Oricon charts having placed consistently on the Top 30 since Volume 2. Copies sold peaked at 61,539 copies for Volume 4 at just 3 days of sales, but then experienced a short decline before regaining its strength for Volume 7. This is however still slightly far from the sales of Volume 4 (they both have the same number of days of sales). In September 2020, its official website announced a second season for its Anime set to begin this year on an unannounced date. For more information about it, do check out its latest promotional video below.
Mahoutsukai no Yome Volume 17 is right after. Its performance has not been all on the bright side for its recent volumes with a clear downtrend observed. Volume 13 witnessed fewer copies sold than Volume 12, both in their first 6 days whereas Volume 15 only sold slightly higher than Volume 14 despite having a day longer. Volume 16 was at 44,802 copies sold in its first 3 days. The 4-day sales it has for Volume 17 should allow it to achieve a similar result to sales of Volume 14, as such we can expect around 75,000 to 80,000 copies sold.
Skip a spot to Number 14 and you will stumble upon Kawaii dake ja Nai Shikimori-san’s 12th volume. The series failed to chart for Volume 9 due to stiff competition (Tokyo Revengers) at the time of its release back in July 2021, but it has consistently placed on the chart prior to that and after. Copies sold for Volumes 10 and 11 were at 30,000 copies sold, however weaker compared to Volumes 6 to 8, all in their first 3 days as well. The situation could be turned around since it is slated to receive an Anime adaptation beginning soon in April this year. In the meantime, you can check out its promotional video down below.
Kenja no Mago Volume 19 is at Number 14, and is the Manga adaptation of the Light Novel of the same name. You can check out some of its chapters via its official Manga page right here in Japanese. Tougen Anki Volume 8 is a series by Yura Urushibara, published in Shounen Champion weekly magazine which a preview of its 1st volume can be found here for free in Japanese, so do check it out. Finally, the spin-off title of Tensei shitara Slime Datta Ken, Tensei shitara Slime Datta Ken Ibun: Makokugurashi no Trinity is 19th with its 6th volume. The title is also out officially in English with the first five volumes available for grabs. Without further ado, the full list is as follows:
