There are not that many new releases making it onto TSUTAYA’s list for the week between September 26 and October 2, though there are certainly several new releases to take note of. First, head over to Number 5 and you will Kage no Jitsuryokusha ni Naritakute! Volume 8 in its first 7 days which actually made its debut the week before with its pre-release taking the 37th spot. It has been a long time since the series last appeared on any of the charts covered by the Blog, however, it was last seen for Volume 4 back in August 2020 at 24,355 copies sold in its first 6 days. The Manga is an adaptation of the Light Novel of the same name and is serialized in Comp Ace by KADOKAWA. With more than 2 million copies in circulation according to its official Twitter account, more information about the work can be obtained via its official Manga web page here whereas some of its Manga chapters can be read for free in Japanese right here if you are interested to give it a look. At the same time, its Light Novels and Manga are also available in English and is published by Yen Press with the Manga’s 5th and 6th volumes are up for pre-orders and its Light Novels are available up to Volume 4. Next on the list is Kidou Senshi Gundam Thunderbolt Volume 20 with its Regular Edition in its first 3 days. The Manga last made an appearance with its 19th volume back in March at 59,225 copies in its first 7 days and before that, it was last seen with Volume 18 at 47,901 copies sold in 4 days. Volume 20 should be able to push out at least more than 35,000 copies if all goes well (including its Limited Edition copies). Serialization for the Manga began in March 2012 in Shogakukan’s Big Comic Superior with more information about the work can be found on its official web page here or its Manga web page here. Its first Manga chapter is also available for free in Japanese right here for you to check out. Note that Viz Media is officially publishing its English volumes with Volume 18 up for pre-order and slated to hit shelves this coming October 18. According to its latest Manga volume product page, the series now has more than 4.5 million copies in circulation. In December 2015, it received its first Anime adaptation by Sunrise and a sequel followed suit in March of 2017.

Then, at Number 10 is another Gundam series with Kidou Senshi Gundam MSV-R: Johnny Ridden no Kikan’s 24th volume making its debut in its first 7 days. The Manga has so far not found any success in breaching Oricon’s Top 30 sales chart since the Blog began tracking, but it has appeared on COMIC ZIN’s list before this for its 22nd volume back in September last year. The KADOKAWA title is serialized in Gundam Ace with more than 2.5 million copies in circulation (Source: Yahoo) since its debut. At Number 12 is Otome Game no Hametsu Flag shika Nai Akuyaku Reijou ni Tensei shiteshimatta Volume 8 in its first 3 days and will most certainly make its appearance on the Oricon chart for the same week. The series had previously made its debuts with Volumes 6 and 7 at 67,768 copies and 35,678 copies in their first 7 days and 4 days. Volume 12 is expected to sell roughly 25,000 copies or more. The work adapts the Light Novel of the same name and has been in serialization since August 2017 in Ichijinsha’s Comic ZERO-SUM. Further information about the work can be found here along with the first two chapters available for free in Japanese (click here for direct access to its 1st chapter). You can also obtain its Manga volumes officially in English, published by Seven Seas. In April 2020, SILVER LINK. adapted the work into a 12-episode TV Anime series and later on in July 2021, it was blessed with a sequel, also by the same studio. The title is expecting an Anime film to be released sometime in 2023. So far, according to its official Twitter account, the series has more than 5 million copies in circulation.

We have Kuubo Ibuki: Great Game Volume 8 at Number 13 in its first 3 days. The series has made consistent appearances on Oricon’s Top 30 charts for its past volumes with Volumes 4 and 6 seen at 30,331 copies and 30,729 copies sold in their first 3 days. Therefore, you can expect a similar turnout for its latest volume. Serialized in Shogakukan’s Big Comic magazine in December 2019, more information about the title can be obtained on its official web page here while its first chapter can be read in Japanese here. The series passed the 7 million copies in circulation (including its prequel) milestone last year in May when its 4th volume was released.
Over to Number 14, you will find Saigo ni Hitotsu dake Onegai shitemo Yoroshii deshou ka Volume 6 with its first ever appearance on TSUTAYA’s chart in its first 3 days. The AlphaPolis title is an adaptation of the Light Novel of the same name with further information about it can be found on its Manga official web page here along with its first three chapters available for reading for free in Japanese. According to its latest volume cover, the series has passed 800,000 copies in circulation including digital.
