The week between August 8 and August 14 does not contain as many new releases as the week before with some past titles that made it onto the chart still present on TSUTAYA’s Top 20 list. Jujutsu Kaisen moves up a spot to clinch the 1st spot while One Piece Volume 103 slips down to Number 2.
Then, the chart is set off with a number of new releases starting with the 12th and latest volume of Dungeon Meshi at Number 3 with 5 days of sales. Its past performance has been hit with a slight fall in sales trend, for instance Volume 8’s 2 days of sales sold 23.44% higher than Volume 10 while Volume 11’s 5-day sales could have sold more had it maintained the intensity that was seen with Volume 9 which sold 135,713 copies sold in its first 3 days. Nevertheless, the latest volume may see copies sold more attuned to Volume 11 if all goes well, though the potential of it doing better is still there. Last week, the Manga was announced to be receiving an Anime adaptation by Studio Trigger which may push copies sold for Volume 12 a little higher than Volume 11. With more than 8.5 million copies in circulation including digital (Source: Screen Online), you can give some of the Manga chapters a try for free in Japanese via Comic Walker right here.
A spot below, you will find Mairimashita! Iruma-kun Volume 28 in its first 7 days which should see the volume hit closer to the likes of Volumes 20 and 24, both of which sold 81,747 copies and 89,998 copies in their first week. The work which now has more than 10 million copies in circulation (Source: Tsutaya) is serialized in Akita Shoten’s Weekly Shounen Champion with more information about it to be found via its official web page here. Its first Manga chapter is also available for reading in Japanese right here, so do check it out! The title received a 23-episode TV Anime adaptation by Bandai Namco Pictures in 2019 and a sequel was broadcasted later on in 2021. The Anime adaptation of Mairimashita! Iruma-kun is expecting the third season to land soon in October 2022.
Gekkan Shoujo Nozaki-kun makes its 14th volume debut at Number 5 with 5 days of sales and is expected to see between 115,000 to 130,000 copies sold if all goes well based on the performance of Volume 13. Prior to that, the series was last seen with 5 days of sales for Volume 4 which sold 117,310 copies. The Manga is serialized in Square Enix’s Gangan Online with some of its chapters available for reading right here in Japanese. It received a 12-episode TV Anime adaptation by Doga Kobo in 2014.
Head over to Number 8 and you will find Tensei Kenja no Isekai Life: Dai-2 no Shokugyou wo Ete, Sekai Saikyou ni Narimashita Volume 17 in its first 5 days which should see it able to push out around 55,000 copies to 65,000 copies sold, but with the Anime adaptation of the series being aired this season, we can be a little more hopeful and say it will do more than that. The only direct 5-day sales comparison it has so far is with Volume 13 at 62,156 copies sold back in August last year. The Manga series is adapted from the Light Novel of the same name which first began its publication in May 2018. Serialized in the Manga UP! magazine by Square Enix, you can access more information about the work via its official web page right here and read its first chapter for free right here in Japanese. According to its official Anime website, the series has already breached 5 million copies in circulation. The TV Anime adaptation is produced by Revoroot.
