It sure was a good week for Kimetsu no Yaiba, breaking its own personal record, a volume at a time. For the week between October 5 to October 11, the title’s latest volume sold 2,204,279 copies, overtaking the debut sales of volume 21, which sold 2,041,177 copies back in June. While the Standard Edition still occupies the number one spot according to TSUTAYA, expect a drop in number of copies sold for the week. Note that volume 21 fell nearly 65% in its second week. I am expecting more or less the same.

While the Top 10 list provided by TSUTAYA is mostly made up of titles already in the previous chart, there are two newcomers in the list. Seijo no Maryoku wa Bannou desu at number 7, which volume 6 debuted in February with 53,364 copies sold. Yuusha Party wo Tsuihou sareta Beast Tamer, Saikyoushu no Nekomimi Shoujo to Deau (No. 8) is also on the list, however no data is available for the series.

COMIC ZIN has some noteworthy titles we ought to be paying attention to, those that did not make the TSUTAYA’s list. Yet, I believe they have the potential to breach Oricon’s Top 30 chart this coming Friday. First, we have Beastars which is a strong contender. Considering its modest popularity, it has a high chance of appearing. Likewise, Kawaii dake ja Nai Shikimori-san and Witch Craft Works too may be on the list, especially the first. Kawaii dake ja Nai Shikimori-san has made into the Oricon’s charts twice this year with volume 4 selling 64,725 copies back in March, volume 5 on the other hand, sold 63,208 copies in June. We can expect more or less the same amount – within the 60,000 range.
