We all saw this coming did we not? The return of Kimetsu no Yaiba dominating the charts may not come as a surprise since the series’ Anime theatrical film has been performing exceptionally well in the box office, and is the highest grossing – at the time of writing – globally. Yes, you read that right, globally. Various news outlets have reported that the film sold 910,507 tickets alone on the first day, earning the title 1,268,724,700 yen (~ US$12.03 million). It took in 4,623,117,450 yen (~ US$43.85 million) within three days, overtaking past weekend’s My People, My Homeland, a Chinese film which earned an estimated US$19,100,000 in China, less than half of Kimetsu no Yaiba Movie: Mugen Ressha-hen’s sales. Apart from that, cinemagoers in Japan are lucky enough to receive a “Rengoku Volume 0” manga volume which describes Rengoku’s first mission.

If you are curious and would like to know more about the “Rengoku Volume 0”, Youtuber, Romnnse has uploaded a video on his channel, introducing the content of the volume received, which comes with a colouring sheet.
If you missed the show, worry not as Kimetsu no Yaiba Movie: Mugen Ressha-hen is set to release outside of Japan with Singapore seeing a a fan screening as early as November – more precisely the 7th. The General release will start from November 19 onward. There are dates you can look out for, especially those living in South East Asia. You can find out more by visiting ODEX Anime’s video announcement here.
Other than that, TSUTAYA’s list also features Chihayafuru and Goblin Slayer’s latest volumes, both I am sure will make into Oricon’s chart this coming Friday. The two titles last appearances did not pave way for them to breach the 100,000 copies sold mark, and with Kimetsu no Yaiba getting a boost for the week, expect them to sell either more or less the same.
Besides, it is thanks to Natalie.mu that we get to see these charts on a weekly basis, so be sure to visit their site here and show them lots of love! COMIC ZIN’s chart, although devoid of Kimetsu no Yaiba’s titles (weird) still features two names worth paying attention to. Jojolion was featured back in April with its 23rd volume selling 46,403 copies in its first week. Harukana Receive and Tonikaku Kawaii both share the same spots, however the Anime broadcast of the latter will definitely provide a much added advantage in terms of sales for Tonikaku Kawaii. Other than that, a slew of new titles in COMIC ZIN’s list, feel free to browse through and pick up a number of two if you are interested.
