Well, big names on the week’s list with One Piece leading TSUTAYA’s sales chart with its 101st volume. Note that Volume 100 saw 1,172,940 copies sold in its first 3 days, an improvement of 10.36% over Volume 100’s 1,051,403 copies within the same number of days. Volume 101 will see the same number of days of sales which if all goes well, should see copies sold at least within the 1,050,000 copies to 1,200,000 copies range. Its best 3-day sales since Volume 93 belongs to Volume 94 which debuted back in October 2019 at 1,182,323 copies. On a side note, the Manga has also reached 490 million in printed circulation.
It is thanks to the wonderful folks over at Natalie.mu that we get to see these charts on a weekly basis, so be sure to head over to their site here and show them lots of love! Plus, all the data you find below is accessible via Natalie.mu right here! If you are more comfortable with Google charts, I have left the links to their respective charts right down at the bottom of the post.
Then, at Number 2 is Kaijuu 8-gou Volume 5. It last made its appearance with the 4th volume at 332,401 copies sold in its first 3 days. Despite being relatively new, the series has seen tremendous growth, notably between sales of Volume 1 and Volume 2. It only experienced a minor improvement from Volume 3 to Volume 4 (which both had the same number of days), as such do expect it to see a similar turnout.
Coming in at Number 3 is World Trigger Volume 24. It is quite nice to see it on the chart since the frequency of releases have dropped for the series. In 2020 for instance, it only saw one volume released. The title was last seen with its 23rd volume back in February at 238,549 copies sold in its first 4 days, a 19.34% improvement over Volume 22. Since Volume 24 will only have 3 days of sales, expect copies to see a lower count. However, with its Anime currently airing, we may see a better outcome.
One Punch-man Volume 24 is 4th on the list. Copies sold seem to be struggling for its previous volume which noted 274,698 copies within its first week, compared to Volume 21’s 285,015 copies sold in just 5 days. Perhaps the gap between releases and the absence of a sequel Anime shows is affecting its sales. Nevertheless, its current arc may provide an additional boost to sales. Still, its 3-day sales may be a lot closer to sales of Volume 22 which had 150,678 copies sold within the period.
Jump over to Number 6 and you will find Dragon Ball Super Volume 17. Its performance fluctuated a lot for its past volumes. While Volume 11 had 119,283 copies sold in its first 5 days, Volume 13 had a weaker turnout of 112,997 copies within its first 6 days of sales. Then, Volume 16 noted even less copies sold in the span of 5 days at 107,812 copies. 3-day sales for Volume 14 was high, but Volumes 12 and 15 were quite low compared to the 14th volume. Its 3-day sales for Volume 17 should range between 75,000 copies to 90,000 copies sold.
Head over to Number 8 is Seijo no Maryoku wa Bannou desu Volume 8, a title you may be familiar with. It received an Anime adaptation by studio Diomedéa this year, and its Manga performance has been looking rather great. Volume 5 had 52,585 copies in its first week while Volume 6 was at 49,486 copies in its first 2 days. The Anime clearly had a positive influence on the latter volume since it was released at the time of its Anime’s broadcast (which ended on June 22).
Of course, not to forget is Dandadan Volume 3 a title that has also been doing well despite being relatively new. Copies sold were at 57,761 copies for the 1st volume within 5 days whereas Volume 2 was at 85,717 copies sold in its first week. Since Volume 3 will only see 3 days of sales, it is quite hard to estimate how many copies it will make. But, it should see a fairly good amount.
