TSUTAYA and COMIC ZIN Weekly Tankoubon Sales Ranking via Natalie: March 8, 2021 to March 14, 2021

Heavyweight titles such as Jujutsu Kaisen, Kaiju No. 8 and Chainsaw Man are still present on TSUTAYA’s chart, though it will be interesting to see how the latter two would perform for the week on Oricon’s chart. Sales for Jujutsu Kaisen volumes are expected to go down especially for Volume 15. The chances are still there for the rest of its volumes to experience a rise, however a drop is more likely to happen.

It is thanks to the amazing folks over at Natalie.mu that we get to see these charts on a weekly basis, so be sure to head over to their site here and show them some love! All the data you find below can be found right here via Natalie.mu.

TSUTAYA lists three new releases on its chart with the 8th volume of Mystery to Iu nakare leading the new pack. Debut sales for the title’s latest three volumes have been moving upward as Volume 7 peaked at 76,628 copies in its first week. The same volume did splendidly in 2020, being placed on Oricon’s charts for three consecutive weeks with total sales reaching 146,085 copies. Volume 8 may see a similar turnout, but another increase will be most welcomed.

As for Gokushufudou which occupies the 4th spot, it saw the highest debut sales among the last three volumes when Volume 6 breached the 100,000 copies mark in 2020. And with the Anime expected to air very soon, we can expect the numbers to stay above the mark. Still, it will be quite interesting to see how the Anime will impact sales for its 8th volume.

The spin-off Manga of Mairimashita! Iruma-kun, Makai no Shuyaku wa Wareware da! settles in at number 8 with its fourth volume. The title has been performing really well so far, beating debut sales of the parent Manga. It edged close to selling 100,000 copies for Volume 3, seeing number of copies sold for the volume reaching as many as 97,535 copies sold in its first week. Based on its current trajectory, higher debut sales is plausible.

Kaiju No. 8 remains steady on COMIC ZIN’s chart at number 1 while a slew of new releases follow suit, with the exception of Uzaki-chan wa Asobitai! at number 5, which climbed two spots from previous week’s 7. One title to note of is Mahoutsukai no Yome‘s Volume 5. Unfortunately, the title has been struggling for its last three volumes as sales have been showing a continuous drop. Sales for Week 2, while decent, have been unable to push the number upwards for its fourteenth volume, nevertheless the number of copies sold for the two weeks are still over 100,000 copies sold. Another drop may not be a good indicator for the series. We should observer further until the release of Volume 16.

    1. Is it any good? I am actually looking for something to read… 😅 It made onto Oricon’s chart last year, so I think there is a good chance that it will make an appearance. 😁

      1. Yes, it is simply amazing, I recommend it.
It will certainly appear on Oricon, but I just found it curious not to appear in those rankings.

      2. If that is the case! I am definitely going to give it a try! Maybe… if the two entities provide a longer list, the title may appear on the charts. I could find TSUTAYA up to 20, but I can’t seem to locate COMIC ZIN’s list… I’ll see if I can find it.
