TSUTAYA and COMIC ZIN Weekly Tankoubon Sales Ranking via Natalie: March 22, 2021 to March 28, 2021

Jujutsu Kaisen volumes are back on TSUTAYA’s Top 10 chart with Volume 15 still refusing to budge. While sales slowed down the week before, with the end of the Anime’s broadcast, copies sold are most likely to go up for the week in the coming Oricon sales chart. A theatrical release, an adaptation of the prequel, Jujutsu Kaisen 0 was announced and teased by TOHO animation a few days ago. If you have not watched the teaser, you can do so below:

Despite the heavy presence of Jujutsu Kaisen volumes, in addition to titles that made the chart the previous week, two new releases have breached TSUTAYA’s Top 10 spots. At number 3, you will find the 19th volume of Saint☆Oniisan. The title has been performing decently the past two volumes with Volume 17’s two-week sales reaching 201,558 copies. Volume 18 however, did not do as well. Two-week sales for the volume plummeted to 118,235 copies, a 41.34% drop.

At number 6, would be Tate no Yuusha no Nariagari‘s Volume 18. The title last made onto Oricon’s Top 30 chart back in February 2020 with the release of Volume 15, which at the time sold 34,633 copies. Since then, its Volume 16 and Volume 17 have not made onto the chart.

    1. Yeah… I haven’t read the Manga, so I am not sure what is the cause… I remember watching the Anime few years back. Very funny though 😅

  1. Oricon this week “Expansion of jujutsu (reference to domain expansion)”

Next week is the launch of Jump’s sleeves, I recommend keeping an eye on newcomer Sakamoto Days… But Jujutsu will probably prevent him from reaching the top 30 lol.

    1. Looks like Oricon is hinting on Jujutsu Kaisen’s sales performance. Well, we know it is most likely going to occupy 15 spots. It will be hard for many new releases… 😅

      1. June will be an excellent month to see the potential of Jujutsu, as this is the month of the release of volume 16 of Jujutsu Kaisen and volume 16 of One Piece, and we cannot forget the new super newcomer Kaiju No.8. It is also the launch of volume 2 of my dear Sakamoto Days lol

      2. Wow, looks like it is going to be a fierce battlefield. Not for Shueisha though. But, like you said, it will be a good point to pay attention to see how Jujutsu Kaisen could stack up to the behemoth that is ONE PIECE, and popular newcomers.

      1. Keep an eye on him because everything suggests that he will sell well (not like Kaijuu lol).

Correcting my previous comment, I said volume 16 of one piece but it was 99.

      2. Got it! I will keep a close lookout. The release date is soon, let’s see how it will perform. 😁

By the way, really thanks for the info!
