Shingeki no Kyojin slips to 2nd place on TSUTAYA’s chart after it had perhaps the best week in its lifetime on Oricon’s the week before, debuting at 819,600 copies, and coupled with sales of its Special Edition, the series saw 897,677 copies sold in total. Expect the two to slide the week between June 14 to June 20. TSUTAYA’s Top 10 chart welcomed five new releases for the week with the 11th volume of Shuumatsu no Walküre leading the new members at number 3. The series saw copies sold stood at a high 112,093 copies for its 10th volume after recording continuous growth in sales since Volume 8. Sales did stumbled from Volume 6 onward, as Volume 7 and Volume 8 could not push beyond the 100,000 copies mark in their first weeks like Volume 6. As it now has an Anime adaptation out, we may see better debut sales for its 11th volume. Well, a poor debut sales should not worry you too much as the title does have the tendency to sell and stay longer on the charts. If it does not go well the first week, a recovery should ensue in the one after.

Enen no Shouboutai‘s Volume 29 comes in at 6th place after Spy x Family. The title recorded a steady climb for its debut sales from Volume 24 all the way to Volume 27 before experiencing a sharp decline. Volume 28 opened its first week with only 94,758 copies sold, yet a better outcome than Volume 24’s 47,189 copies in its first week.

Head over to number 8 and you will find Kanojo, Okarishimasu‘s 21st volume. Like Enen no Shouboutai, the series witnessed a plunge in sales debut-to-debut for its Volume 19 and Volume 20. The title has seen a positive trend in sales up to Volume 18, which remains its best debut sales thus far since Volume 11, however Volume 20 could not impress. We may see sales rejuvenate the following year with the release of its Anime adaptation’s second season. Due to the lack of intimidating new releases for the week, we can still expect a small recovery in number of copies sold for the series in its first week.

Golden Kamuy has been showing a healthy trend since Volume 23 as sales continue to go up. But this is still pale in comparison to Volume 21’s debut sales which hit 145,708 copies in its first week. Note that, the title tends to stay a little longer on the charts, for instance despite a weaker turnout for its 23rd volume, it persisted for three weeks on Oricon sales chart. Its three-week sales were at a comfortable 219,403 copies, compared to Volume 22’s two-week sales at 192,823 copies (it failed to rank on Week 3). If Volume 26 has a weak debut, do expect it to recover the week after.

Sitting at the edge of the list is Nakaba Suzuki’s Mokushiroku no Yonkishi Volume 2. The title had a decent outing for its 1st volume back in April as two-week sales reached 81,890 copies. It should see a similar outcome this week. Note that the title serves as a direct sequel to Nanatsu no Taizai, a name you might be familiar with, hence if you are a fan of its prequel, do give it a try!

Tasogare ni Maniaeba: Akai Sashimi Sakuinshuu which was placed 6th the prior week has climbed five spots to settle for the top spot on COMIC ZIN’s chart. This is a work by Sashimi Akai who previously worked on the one-shot, Gyo (Shuichi Sashimi) and has an ongoing title Nihon Nyuu ko Seibutsu Kikou.
COMIC ZIN’s chart also features a slew of new titles including Nekoguchi’s Amano Megumi wa Sukidarake! Volume 25. You can check out Chapter 1 (Japanese) available for free right here. Syun Matsuena, author of Shijou Saikyou no Deshi Kenichi has his latest work, Kimi wa 008 at number 4 with its 14th volume. Like Amano Megumi wa Sukidarake!, the two are serialized via Shogakukan’s Shuukan Shounen Sunday, and if you are interested to see what it is all about, do check out Chapter 1 (Japanese) right here. The Magazine has also released a promotional video for the title which you can have a look at down below:
Kemuri to Mitsu‘s Volume 3, a Manga by Hiroko Nagakura settles in for 5th place for the week. If you have heard of Densetsu no Yuusha no Densetsu, the Manga adaptation was worked on by the Mangaka including two other titles: Rudolf Turkey and Yami ni Koishita Hitsuji-chan.
Shadows House which is currently airing sits in at number 7 for the week. Hopefully the Anime could boost its performance on the upcoming Oricon sales chart. And then there are Kubo-san wa Mob wo Yurusanai, Shachiku to Shoujo Etcetera Shachiku to Shoujo no 1800 Hi Spin-off and Kowloon Generic Romance at number 8, 9 and 10 respectively. Sharing the 10th spot with Kowloon Generic Romance is Kanojo mo Kanojo, which Anime adaptation is set to commence very soon. So do keep a lookout for it! I have left the trailer for its Anime down below:
