TSUTAYA and COMIC ZIN Weekly Tankoubon Sales Ranking via Natalie: July 19, 2021 to July 25, 2021

Past titles are heavily nested in the Top 10 of TSUTAYA’s list for the week between July 19 and July 25, though some titles have traded places such as Kingdom Volume 62 which drops a spot to Number 2 as Tokyo Revengers Volume 23 jumps to 1st place. Sousou no Frieren Volume 5 falls to Number 4, however it still places both on TSUTAYA and COMIC ZIN’s charts for the week. Sales are expected to go strong for the title as it heads to Week 2.

The week features three new releases, although Honey Lemon Soda sees two of its related volumes placed on TSUTAYA’s chart. The 17th volume makes its debut at Number 3 for the week, while the Manga’s side stories volume claims the 5th spot. Note that despite the zigzag trend it exhibits for the past four volumes’ debut sales, Volume 16 performed really well to see it ranked on Oricon the second week. First week sales hit 68,577 copies whereas Week 2 saw fewer copies sold. Nevertheless, its two-week sales managed a very comfortable 123,241 copies sold. This could be attributable to the live-action that was set to release on the 9th of July, announced at the time. With it already released, we can expect better number of copies sold for its 17th volume.

Head over to Number 7, and you will find Lv2 kara Cheat datta Motoyuusha Kouho no Mattari Isekai Life Volume 5. The series has not been performing well having failed to rank on Oricon chart for the past two volumes. Its last appearance was for Volume 2 which sold 36,347 copies in its first week. The Manga is an adaptation of the Light Novel of the same name, and is currently published through OVERLAP’s Comic Gardo which houses another popular title, Arifureta Shokugyou de Sekai Saikyou. On COMIC ZIN’s chart, Sousou no Frieren Volume 5 moves a spot above as it clinches the Number 1 spot for the week. Gunma Kisaragi, who had worked on some well… very interesting titles sees its ‘kind of’ safe for work title, Renai Shikou Seitokai Volume 5 following closely behind at Number 2. For those of you interested, you can find the title’s first chapter available for free right here (in Japanese).

But, of course, COMIC ZIN always features a whole lot of new titles to check out. At Number 3 is Mikumi Yuuchi’s Tomodachi toshite Daisuki Volume 3. This is the author’s first actual publication according to Mangaupdates since appearing for the MANGA Day to Day series project which was worked on by 100 Manga artist. Around 30 OL Haman-sama makes its maiden debut at Number 4, while Tasogare ni Maniaeba: Akai Sashimi Sakuinshuu makes a comeback at Number 5. It was last featured back between June 7, 2021 to June 13, 2021 and June 14, 2021 to June 20, 2021.

You may want to pay a closer attention to the title that comes after. Tengoku Daimakyou Volume 6 is a title that is worked on by Masakazu Ishiguro who did Soredemo Machi wa Mawatteiru. In 2018, an animated promotional video of the Manga was released, so do check it out below. Ballpark de Tsukamaete! Volume 3 and Vinland Saga Volume 25 share the same spot for the week as the two settle for the 7th spot. The latter title is what you may want to focus on. The series was adapted into Anime by Wit Studio back in 2019. News recently broke that a season 2 is in the works, and director Shuuhei Yabuta and character designer Takahiko Abiru are set to return (Source: ANN). Yuki Azuma’s Yuutousei to Himitsu no Oshigoto settles for the 9th place while The iDOLM@STER Million Live!: Blooming Clover Volume 9 is at Number 10. Without further ado, the full list is as follows:
