TSUTAYA and COMIC ZIN Weekly Tankoubon Sales Ranking via Natalie: February 15, 2021 to February 21, 2021

The force is immensely strong with Jujutsu Kaisen on TSUTAYA’s chart for the week between February 15 to February 21 with 8 of the spots going to the series. Kimetsu no Yaiba Official Fanbook is still going strong on the chart, at number 4, though sales would most likely face a drop in the coming Oricon’s weekly sales chart. TSUTAYA’s chart features one new release being the latest volume of Kaguya-sama wa Kokurasetai: Tensai-tachi no Renai Zunousen, sitting in at number 8 on the list. As the lack of profound titles to make the chart other than itself, there is a huge chance that the title will top Oricon’s weekly chart for the same week.

It is thanks to the amazing folks over at Natalie.mu that we get to see these charts on a weekly basis, so be sure to head over to their site here and show them lots of love! All the data you find below can be accessed via Natalie.mu’s post right here. Debut sales of Kaguya-sama wa Kokurasetai: Tensai-tachi no Renai Zunousen have been fluctuating with the last six of its volumes. Nevertheless, sales have been able to stay above 100,000 copies sold. The biggest debut dipped with the release of Volume 18, which saw only 102,183 copies sold in its first week. Though sales reinvigorated at the end of the broadcast of its Anime back in June 2020. Sales picked up for the title’s Volume 19 between July 13 to July 19, 2020 seeing 130,134 copies flew off the shelves in its first week and the title saw sales bounced yet again with the debut of Volume 20 with sales climbing as high as 161,263 copies in its first week.

The series though, is finding it hard to get sales up on its second week with all Volume 15 to Volume 20 succumbing to lower copies sold. Despite that, the number of copies it is able to sell tends to remain strong the second week giving it a foothold when put together with sales it made in the first week. The two-week sales put forth a more stable number of copies sold for the title. Despite Volume 18’s weak turnout, note that it did stay on Oricon’s Top 30 chart for four weeks, with total number of copies sold for the four-week period at 256,477 copies.

Without further ado, the full list is as follows:

COMIC ZIN on the other hand, has Kimi wa 008‘s Volume 12 on top of its list. If you remember Shijou Saikyou no Deshi Kenichi (a.k.a KenIchi: The Mightiest Disciple), this work is done by the same author. Aka Akasaka’s Kaguya-sama wa Kokurasetai: Tensai-tachi no Renai Zunousen is also on the list, yet the author seems dissatisfied with having only one of his work placed in the Top 10. Therefore, another of his could be found at number 3 with the latest volume of Oshi no Ko.

    1. Hmmm I wouldn’t say sales have been going down for the series, if we look at the two-week sales trend, the number of copies sold is a lot more stable. The title is still quite popular in Japan, hopefully it can gain better traction there (more sales is always good). You can still consider it a great success! 😁
