The impact of its Anime is well felt by Jibaku Shounen Hanako-kun in 2020, after broadcasting ended March the 27th, the title has seen itself appearing on Oricon charts with elated sales. Volume 13 breached Oricon’s Top 10 chart for the week between May 25 and May 31 to see copies sold reached 113,825. Although Volume 12 saw weaker debut sales, it held onto Oricon’s Top 30 chart for two weeks, seeing its two-week sales at 156,479 copies. Expect it to perform just as well this coming Friday.
It is thanks to the wonderful folks over at Natalie.mu that we get to see these charts on a weekly basis, so be sure to head over to their site here, and show them lots of love! All the data you find below is accessible via Natalie.mu right here. Besides, don’t forget to visit sites TSUTAYA and COMIC ZIN by clicking on their names below as these would not have been made possible if not for them!
TSUTAYA’s chart also has a couple of other new releases on its chart with Coffee & Vanilla‘s Volume 17 placed at number 3 for the week. Sales for the series are unfortunately suffering from quite the setback with copies sold in their first week have dropped the past two volumes from a much stronger 60,000 copies sold to roughly 40,000 copies. Hopefully, the title’s Volume 17 can redeem itself by seeing better sales between April 26 to May 2.

And then there is Disney Twisted-Wonderland at number 6, which Volume 1 saw a surprising turnout of 78,721 copies when it made its debut in 2020. It should be able to see a similar outcome this coming Oricon sales chart. At number 8 is the Manga adaptation of Isekai Meikyuu de Harem wo‘s Volume 7. The title has had healthy sales with both Volume 5 and Volume 6 selling 68,000 copies each in their first weeks in 2020. Good news for the series is that it is set to receive an Anime adaptation to be released on an unannounced date. Information about the Anime is still scarce, but feel free to check out the short commercial released by KADOKAWA Anime here:
Another new title to take a note of would be Mashle‘s Volume 6 sitting in at number 6. The title has been gaining traction in 2021 with Volume 4 selling 54,144 copies back in January. Copies sold increased decently to 74,222 copies in its debut week for Volume 5 in March, and if all goes well, we may see yet another climb. If you wish to give the series a try, you can check out the official English releases by Manga Plus here.

COMIC ZIN on the other hand, features a completely set of cast for the week, led by the 4th volume of Paranoma, whose Mangaka is also known for Yuri Seijin Naoko-san. Tsutomu Nihei’s Ningyou no Kuni trails in at 2nd for the week. If you enjoyed his works such as: Blame! and Sidonia no Kishi, be sure to check it out. Kodansha USA currently has six volumes out for the title under the name “Aposimz”. At number 7 is Shiawase Kanako no Koroshiya Seikatsu, the latest work by Toshiya Wakabayashi who worked on Tsurezure Children and at the edge of the list would be Mejirobana no Saku, from the same author who did Doukyuusei.
That said, you may want to pay attention to Senpai ga Uzai Kouhai no Hanashi‘s Volume 7, which shares the same spot as Mejirobana no Saku. The title will be receiving an Anime adaptation set to commence this coming fall of 2021. A set of teaser trailers were released by King Amusement Creative on its Youtube channel, one of which can be watched here:
