TSUTAYA and COMIC ZIN Weekly Tankoubon Sales Ranking via Natalie: April 12, 2021 to April 18, 2021

We get to see a slew of new releases making their way onto TSUTAYA and COMIC ZIN’s charts for the week between April 12 to April 18. Latest Detective Conan‘s volume opens TSUTAYA’s chart by claiming the first spot for the week. Note that, the title’s volumes have been hovering at around 200,000 copies sold in its debut week. Sales for Volume 97 lasted three week on Oricon’s Top 30 chart seeing total sold reaching 407,840 copies while Volume 98 went on a week longer, its four-week sales fell short of Volume 97’s at 333,803 copies.

Moving on, at number 2, you will find Yuru Camp△‘s Volume 12. The same volume is also charted on COMIC ZIN’s chart at number 1, thus be sure to expect the title to do well for the week. Sales have been on an upward trend for the title since Volume 9, and with the Anime broadcast ending in April, there is a big chance that we get to see better debut-to-debut sales.

Enen no Shoubotai has been recording better debut-to-debut growth as numbers of copies sold improve between Volume 25 to Volume 26. However, Volume 24 and Volume 25 stayed a little longer on Oricon’s chart, for two weeks to be precise as opposed to the latter two volumes. Two-week sales for Volume 24 as well as Volume 25 were at 90,665 copies and 107,622 copies respectively.

One of the biggest surprise is how well Kakkou no Iinazuke has been performing as of late. Despite a dip debut-to-debut between Volume 4 and Volume 5, number of copies sold remained above 50,000 copies. Note that KADOKAWAanime recently released a teaser trailer of the Anime broadcast set to begin in 2022. Since it is quite away, it remains to be seen if there would be an impact right now on copies sold. We can be positive and assume that sales should go up for Volume 6. Anyway, you can find the teaser trailer here:

One thing to note about Kingdom‘s Volume 61 is that, the actual release date is April the 19th. It would seem that some stores have started selling the volume earlier than scheduled (thanks to Sakura for the info!). Its volumes debut sales have not been on a bright side after experiencing a decline from Volume 56 to Volume 59, but the series witnessed a decent respite for Volume 60. Since these are sales from before its official debut, don’t expect it to sell anywhere near Volume 60. Sales should pick up considerably the week after.

Kanojo, Okarishimasu on the other hand has been seeing great numbers especially after the broadcast of the Anime began in July 2020. Look at Volume 16, which was charted between August 17 to August 23, and compare it to the previous volumes. Volume 15 was on Oricon’s Top 30 for June 15 to June 21. It would seem that the title’s comfortable range is between 70,000 copies to 80,000 copies, though the announcement of its second season may provide a tiny boost, if it doesn’t, do expect it to sell within the range.

Apart from that, Tokyo卍Revengers is placed 3rd for the week. Volume 21 saw number of copies sold climbed from the usual 50,000 copies the series tend to sell. The volume sold 82,112 copies in its first week. At number 8 is Hananoi-kun to Koi no Yamai, a Manga by Megumi Morino.

As for COMIC ZIN, there are a number of titles you may want to pay attention to. Dai Dark, at number 2 is the latest Manga by Q Hayashida, the Mangaka who drew Dorohedoro. Moving further down is Tonikaku Kawaii which has a high chance to get onto Oricon’s Top 30 for the week. Sales for the title has been on a decent 30,000 copies before the Anime aired. Now that the broadcast has ended, we can expect some boost. At number 10, there’s Yofukashi no Uta. If you are familiar with Dagashi Kashi, it is a work by the same Mangaka.
