Kaiju No. 8 is really looking good in the US now with its 3rd volume marking the second consecutive rise for the series as physical copies in its first 5 days jumped 15.21% over Volume 2’s 14,606 copies to 16,827 copies sold. The latest volume has also sold 57.91% more than the debut sales of Volume 1 back in December last year. The Manga by Naoya Matsumoto can be read for free in English on Manga Plus here. It first began serialization in Japan back in July 2020 and centres around the character Kafka Hibino who dreams of becoming a member of the Defence Force to kill Kaijuu. The series was nominated for the 14th Manga Taishou Award in 2021 and the 26th Tezuka Osamu Cultural Prize in 2022.

Others to note on the list would be My Hero Academia Volume 31 falling 59.31% week-on-week, however, its lifetime sales will most likely surpass the 30,000 mark the week after. Chainsaw Man Volume 11 is the 3rd best-selling title, and the 4,978 copies sold it had for the week has pushed its lifetime sales to beyond the 80,000 mark in just 33 days.
Interestingly, we also see Heaven Official’s Blessing novel making it onto the chart (although it is not really a Manga, I decided to take it in as a bonus) at 17,862 copies sold in its first 5 days. The novel is also doing well in Japan having its first volume made for a splashing start at 28,264 copies sold in just 3 days. Demon Slayer: The Official Coloring Book retains the 5,000 copies sold plus in the US to hit the 100,000 copies milestone, certainly a remarkable feat for a coloring book.
