Top Manga Sold in the US: June 2022

New releases for the month of June are not that many, counting only four titles on ICv2’s Top 20 list with the first three new releases, I will be discussing further in the Publishers Weekly section below. As for the other new release, you can move down to Number 18 and Deadpool: Samurai Volume 2 can be found. The volume, which is also its last, should see copies sold above the 10,000 mark considering it sold 8,374 copies in its first 5 days back between June 12 and June 18. Also, the Top 20 is dominated by Spy x Family volumes with all of its volumes accounted for, and that could be attributable to the end of its first cour Anime broadcast, causing demand for its volumes to soar.

As for Publishers Weekly’s list, Chainsaw Man Volume 11 tops the chart at 73,354 copies sold, its best performance so far since Volume 4. When compared among the volumes with the same number of days — 26 days, the volume sold 1.5 times more than Volume 4, 88.65%, 56.54% and 11.72% higher than Volumes 7, 8 and 10. It also sold way better than volumes that charted at longer days of sales such as being 93.82% and 31.12% stronger than Volumes 5 and 9 in their first 33 days. Note that Volumes 1 to 11 cover the first part of the series, and the second part has just started its serialization. You can read its chapters for free on Manga Plus right here. Jujutsu Kaisen Volume 16 takes the 3rd spot at 36,075 copies sold in its first 12 days, hence the higher average per day you see in the graph below. Its latest performance, though seem quite low at first, is actually quite remarkable when it is compared to some of its other past volumes. Despite the relatively shorter days of sales that the volume has, it sold 48.19% and 20.95% more than the 26-day sales of Volumes 9 and 12, at the same time sales have increased for Volume 16 by 5.32% over Volume 10’s 34,252 copies in its first 33 days.

Wotakoi: Love Is Hard for Otaku Volume 6 comes in 5th at 26,513 copies sold in its first 19 days, up by 16.39% over Volume 5’s 15,804 copies sold in its first 26 days. A very much welcoming improvement. On the other hand, Spy x Family volumes that made it onto the Top 9 list have all recorded a climb from the month before, and I suspect the same has happened for the rest of its volumes that did not make it onto the list.
