Looks like the month of April saw more of Kimetsu no Yaiba storming onto the chart with nine of its volumes ranked on ICv2’s list between April the 3rd to May the 1st. My Hero Academia is still going strong in the US with Volume 27 taking the top spot for the month. Note that, My Hero Academia Volume 27, Chainsaw Man Volume 4 and Jujutsu Kaisen were all new releases that came out on the same day, April the 6th. And then there is Kimetsu no Yaiba‘s final volume that also came out on the same day placing 7th for the week.

In addition, My Hero Academia has its 5th Anime season airing now with 25 episodes planned. Studio Bones is in charge of the production. Chainsaw Man is set to receive an adaptation on an unannounced date and the sequel to the Manga has already been announced, which will cover the arc where Denji goes to school (source: ANN). The theatrical release of Jujutsu Kaisen 0 was also announced, however no official date has been released as of yet. Finally, Kimetsu no Yaiba sequel will commence some time this year in 2021.

It is not yet known, but Publishers Weekly sales data for the month of April is missing March 28 to April 4. I have counted the four-week period ending May 2, it seems to go back to April the 5th. Let me know if anything is amiss. Despite that, the members in the Top 9 are the same with ICv2’s list. The latest volume of My Hero Academia sold a great 36,665 copies in its debut month as Chainsaw Man‘s Volume 4 trails closely with 29,175 copies. Chainsaw Man‘s Volume 2 is also on the list at number 6 as it saw 19,161 copies sold whereas Kimetsu no Yaiba‘s Volume 21, the final volume could only manage 18,101 copies sold in its first month. Jujutsu Kaisen‘s Volume 9 is 3rd with 24,343 copies sold.
