Well, time really flies does it not? The Blog has actually been around longer than a year, but it was only on July 15, 2019 that I started posting about sales rank. Ever since then, I have kept on going, and finally here we are! One year.
Initially – if you checked out the ‘about’ page – the Blog was started as per a subject I took back at university. My university professor had us write five blog posts each and have them submitted over as part of the course’s requirement. Then, I went silent until I noticed that several websites have not been posting sales data, and people have been wondering where did all of them go. Having a little background in Japanese, I felt maybe I could give it a try – compiling those data and post them up here. Since I worked as an analyst before, I figured I could use some of my skills to dig up info from all the available sites that I am familiar of. Thankfully, I did manage to find data, although the Blog started quite rough at the beginning. Now, I think things are improving since I know where to find the data. I still am not quite satisfied of course, I want more things to be made available, more data but as of the moment, the Blog shall make do with whatever is obtainable on the public domain.
I would like to express my gratitude to those of you who have been frequenting the site, and supporting the Blog ever since or whenever since. Words may not be able to convey my fullest appreciation, however I am really happy. Therefore I would like to also give a shout-out to gabdeniak, Anketsu, Edan, Sakura Beth, Wandering Ambivert, Jgncs, kwinzblog for following the Blog, and to Sakura Beth who always point out to the silly mistakes I tend to make. My followers over on Twitter, Pinterest and Youtube and everyone else who are here taking a look, do enjoy your stay and I hope whatever you find here can benefit you!

If you are wondering about the Blog’s health, here are some details: The Blog has been doing well. In 2019, from July till December the total views and visitor count are 9,223 and 2,420 respectively. From January 2020 to July 2020 (at the time of writing), the total views and visitor count are 43,606 and 12,338 respectively. The Blog is averaging 8,000 to 9,000 views and around 2,000 to 3,000 visitors a month, it peaked back in April and has settled down after that.
The Blog, year-on-year comparison.
As you may be aware, the Blog is an Amazon affiliate, and I am currently applying to be a CDJapan affiliate too, though the latter is still pending. In terms of income, the Blog has made $0.50 in 2019 and in 2020 from January till July, the Blog has made $0.15. This is probably one aspect where the Blog is falling short of, but no worries at all. I still have a job, and will be able to cover the small expenses incurred by the Blog. So, please be rest assured!
Future and Plan
I am really counting on being able to continue the Blog for as long as I can. Thus far, I have been blessed with good health, and am doing well despite the ongoing crisis that have befallen many countries around the world. So, please take good care of your health and stay safe.
Right now, I am working on a new look for the Blog, not that I dislike the current theme, however I could do with some flexibility. So far, everything that I have came up with looks horrible! Curse my inadequacy! I am still playing around with whatever I have and if all is good, the Blog may have a new look end of the year or beginning of next year. If you would like me to just drop the hassle and maintain as it is, let me know in the comment section below. You can check out below to see some examples of what I have done so far:

Also, I have been changing the looks for some pages, slowly especially ones that were published back in 2019. The rest will follow soon, anyways you can take a look down below:
I hope it looks good. Best I can do so far :\
Apart from that, I managed to obtain a credit card, thus I should be able to subscribe to Oricon’s sales data. However, the only account I could subscribe to is the personal account, as such I will not be able to share the data here. The least I can do is to show the step-by-step on how to register for those of you who are interested. As for the business account, MyAnimeList has noted that it is expensive. If they cannot afford it, I am very sure, I will not be able too. Nevertheless, I am keen on getting data from NPD for sales data in the US. Since I only have a personal Gmail account, all of my inquiries and emails have gone unanswered. My goal is to get an email account associated with the Blog, and start asking for the quotes. Still, I heard they are quite costly. We shall see how it goes. In the meantime, I have set up a ‘Buy Me a Coffee’ page here, in the hope that I can prepare some fund to get the data. Or Patreon is better? I have no idea, anyways wait till I am financially capable of obtaining a Blog’s email account. If you would like to chip in, I do appreciate the help! This is completely voluntary, so no pressure.
There we go, five objectives:
1. Blog redesign
2. Step-by-step Oricon Account Registration
3. Get an email account for the Blog
4. Get a quote from NPD
5. Secure some funds
I shall update again if all of the above have been achieved. Once again, I am thankful to all of you for the constant support and patronage. If you have any questions or would like to share your thoughts, you can do so in the comment section down below. Please take care and stay safe!
