“Sakura Wars the Animation” Blu-ray and DVD goes on sale 20th of May, the Special Edition includes a booklet along with a recording of the cast’s commentary.
Sega has finalized the dates for all 4 volumes of the currently airing Sakura Wars the Animation series which is also a video game adaptation of the same name. Released in Japan back in 2019, the game is a soft reboot of the Sakura Wars series. The worldwide edition was released on the 28th of April.
The Special Edition will feature a different outer case together with a booklet. It also features a special audio recording of the cast’s commentaries on the show. Volume 1 will consist of the first 3 episodes of the series and is set to hit the shelves this coming 20th of May. Sakura Wars the Animation is directed by Manabu Ono and features character designs by Tite Kubo, Bleach. Tatsuhiko Urahata is responsible for the series’ composition. The first show was aired on the 3rd of April and you can check them on the Fridays at 10 PM, Tokyo MX while it airs at 11:30 PM on BS11.
The full release dates of the volumes are as follows:
Volume 1: May 20, 2020 (Wed) Episode 1 to 3.
Volume 2: June 17, 2020 (Wed) Episode 4 to 6.
Volume 3: July 15, 2020 (Wed) Episode 7 to 9.
Volume 4: August 19, 2020 (Wed) Episode 10 to 12.
The Blu-ray Special Edition will cost ¥7,000 (~65$) while the Standard Edition will cost ¥5,000 (~46$). The DVD Special Edition on the other hand is ¥6,000 (~56$). All prices are not inclusive of tax.
