Oricon’s Half-Year Manga Sales Ranking 2021

It was really a great first 6 months for titles such as Kimetsu no Yaiba and Jujutsu Kaisen, even better for Shueisha seeing the two performing so well for the year. Apart from the high number of copies sold for the two, both have generated great revenue the first-half of 2021.

Despite the unavailability of data for certain weeks, the blog has tracked sales for the two where Jujutsu Kaisen has thus far amassed 11,643.4 million yen in revenue (~$106,216,503) while Kimetsu no Yaiba is at 8,119.4 million yen (~$74,063,193). Sales peaked for Jujutsu Kaisen in the week between March 1 to March 7 where sales hit a staggering, 1,723.5 million yen (~$15,721,348) as the release of Volume 15 saw its copies sold past 1 million copies. Although Kimetsu no Yaiba has been slowing down, it saw a better yield than Jujutsu Kaisen in the week between February 1 to February 7. Sales hit 2,004.1 million yen (~$18,282,302) at the time, most likely boosted by the release of Kimetsu no Yaiba Official Fanbook: Kisatsutai Kenbunroku Volume 2.

Though, we really, really must not forget Tokyo卍Revengers which follows the two closely behind at number 3. The release of the Anime adaptation has done wonders to the title. Look at the chart, and at the same time, keep in mind that the Anime started its broadcast April the 11th.

The performance is not as comparable to Kimetsu no Yaiba nor Jujutsu Kaisen, but it is palpable. Sales were at a high 431.1 million yen (~$3,933,519) in the week between May 3 to May 9 where sales for all of its volumes picked up at the time. As the Anime is still being broadcasted, expect the title to continue its great run for some time.
