Toho Co., Ltd. full fiscal year result for 2022 is finally out with some information that may be of interest to many people. The presentation material provided (page 8) has detailed out its best performing film titles that have a box office revenue of above 1 billion yen (≈7.98 million USD). And it comes as no surprise that Jujutsu Kaisen 0 Movie would top the list. The title has earned 13.25 billion yen (≈105.72 million USD) as of the end of March 2022, eclipsing Evangelion: 3.0+1.0 Thrice Upon a Time by 2.97 billion yen (≈23.70 million USD). If you head over to page 10, you will find out that the film has made 13,416,000,640 yen (≈107.05 million USD) in the first 108 days (which should be until April the 10th). Note that, in January this year, I covered the 18-day sales performance of the film where at the time, the movie made 7,714,084,650 yen (≈61.57 million USD) with total admissions at 5,671,950 people. Those figures have now increased by 42.50% for its box office revenue while total admissions have climbed by as much as 40.72% in the span of 90 days (approximately 3 months) to 9,568,829. However, this is still much less in comparison to Kimetsu no Yaiba Movie: Mugen Ressha-hen which made 39.14 billion yen (≈312.46 million USD) for the fiscal year 2021 (as of the end of March 2021, please see Presentation Material 2021, page 8).
As for others on the list, Detective Conan Movie 24: The Scarlet Bullet is 3rd at 7.65 billion yen (≈ 61.07 million USD), Ryuu to Sobakasu no Hime is next at 6.6 billion yen (≈52.68 million USD), Boku no Hero Academia the Movie: World Heroes’ Mission is placed at Number 5 at 3.41 billion yen (≈27.21 million USD) while Crayon Shin-chan Movie: Mystery Meki!
