Japan Top Weekly Video Game Ranking: October 30 – November 5, 2023

The strong 40.95% rise recorded for Switch consoles week-over-week to 93,252 units sees the brand dominating the consoles chart for the week occupying 92.8% of the market share.

Most brands have also reported an increase in units sold with the Xbox Series jumping 43.50% higher to 4,737 units whereas PlayStation 4 and New 2DS LL both are at 29.82% and 4.35% more than the week before at 1,306 units and 24 units, respectively.

The PlayStation 5 is the only system that has declined as total units sold fell sharply by 58.51%, ending the week at 1,217 units as opposed to the 2,933 units it sold the week before.

There are three new titles on the Top 10 software list for the week. In terms of individual entry, Fashion Dreamer leads new releases at No. 2 with 30,884 copies sold in its first four days. The game is a follow-up title of Style Savvy series and this time around features a fashion influencer instead of a boutique owner. You can find out more about the title via its launch trailer below.

Hop over to Number 3 and WarioWare: Move It!, the tenth installment of the WarioWare series, makes its debut selling 29,584 copies in three days. The sequel to the 2006’s WarioWare: Smooth Moves also makes a return to the traditional gameplay style the series is known for with more information about it can be learned via its launch trailer below.

Then, with the combined sales of all of its Switch, PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 4 editions, Star Ocean: The Second Story R makes a decent start of 50,577 copies sold in its first three days. The game is a remake of the 1998’s Star Ocean: The Second Story game for the systems mentioned above and is also available on PC via Steam.
