New consoles! New games! What an exciting day it is… for those who were successful during the launch, because I did not. I failed for both Xbox One and Playstation 4 launches back then, and the failure has returned to haunt me. Well, I guess I shall keep myself on the waiting list. Since there are not enough units to go around, thus next year it is. While I did link the products below, you can check them out if you want to, but I must say here that they are all sold out.
The opening week of PS5 and its Digital Edition both saw the hardware accumulating 118,085 units sold in its first week, the Xbox Series X and S on the other hand, sold 20,534 units proving that the Japanese market is still a tough nut to crack for Microsoft. Other hardware experienced a decline for the week with the exception of Switch Lite. It climbed 11.09%, ending the week with 22,596 units sold.

As for software, since the circulation of new hardware is still fresh in Japan, there is only one Playstation 5 title that made into the chart, which is Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales at number 10. The numbers are expected to improve once more people get their hands on the machine. The week’s chart is topped by Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War with 84,475 copies sold. It is followed by Assassin’s Creed Valhalla at 46,055 copies sold. At number 3 is Sakuna: Of Rice and Ruin’s Switch edition. The combined sales of the title along with its PS4 version have put the figure at 55,861 copies sold. The PS4 version of Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales takes the 8th spot while Kingdom Hearts: Melody of Memory settles for 9th. Without further ado, the full list is as follows:
