Japan Top Weekly Video Game Ranking: November 29, 2021 to December 5, 2021

Really poor sales for both PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series consoles as the two slumped to their lowest since May 16. Units sold for Playstation 5 was down 78.65% week-on-week to 1,919 while Xbox Series was at 11.85% lower to 558. Switch consoles however catapulted in number of units sold to see its best since May 16 with a total of 202,937 units thanks to very encouraging sales of its OLED model of which it alone sold nearly 100,000 units. PlayStation 4 experienced a small decent climb of 27.59% to 116 units, and New 2DS LL retreated by 11.32% to 423 units.

The week between November 29 to December 5 saw new releases in its Top 10 with Nintendo’s Yawaraka Atama Jyuku: Issho ni Atama no Stretch placing 3rd at 36,928 copies sold in 3 days. The video game features a wide variety of activities that can be done from memorization to animal identification which can be played by up to four players. Number 8 is the remastered edition of the 2016 Disney Magical World 2 at 13,348 copies which was initially released on the Nintendo 3DS. The game serves as the direct sequel to Disney Magical World. There are six Disney-themed worlds such as the world of Frozen to venture in. Through this game, you will be able to experience a life simulation of a Disney-themed world which includes building furniture, clothing and using ingredients. In addition, you may encounter or run into popular Disney characters such as Mickey Mouse, Olaf and even run their cafes. Promotional video of the game is below, so do check it out!
