Major improvement for hardware across the board for the week between May 30 and June 5 with the Xbox Series recording the biggest jump in sales, up by 78.04% week-on-week to 11,573 units, taking up 11.4% of the total hardware sales. The Switch consoles noted a small gain of 0.40% to 61,122 units from previous week’s 60,877 units as sales performance of its Switch vanilla suffered from a 9.08% drop. That said, there is a strong chance that its lifetime sales will hit the 25 million mark the following week. PlayStation 5 consoles too have witnessed positive results for the week, improving 48.12% to 28,583 units sold. PlayStation 4 vanilla and New 2DS LL both have climbed 23.81% and 36.19% each to record 21 units and 257 units sold respectively.

As for software sales for the week, we have one new release making it onto the chart with The Quintessential Quintuplets the Movie: Five Memories of My Time with You occupying the 2nd and 5th spots at a total of 30,469 copies sold in its first 5 days. Its Switch edition edges its PlayStation 4 edition by four spots as it clinches the 2nd best position at 21,440 copies while the other settles in for the 5th place at 9,029 copies. The title is a visual novel based on the 5-toubun no Hanayome series’ film which was released back in May 20. The game will take place in Okinawa as you play Futaro who is on a graduation trip.
