Although week-to-week change is not available this time around, sales of hardware were relatively good the week between May 10 to May 16. Sales of vanilla Switch finally breached 16 million units sold in Japan, and together with Switch Lite, the console is nearing 20 million which it should be able to achieve in a week or two. PS5 vanilla saw 10,896 units sold for the week, helping the console to pass beyond 600,000 units sold. Both PS5 and its Digital Edition have a combined lifetime sales of 726,462 units in Japan as of the week. Xbox machines did quite well for the week while PS4 and New 2DS LL recorded 1,226 units and 495 units sold respectively.

Sales of software continued to slide the week between May 10 to May 16 with Resident Evil Village facing the biggest drop among the titles on the Top 10. Sales have fallen 68.48% week-on-week for the title, and its PS5 edition has dropped out of the Top 10 list. New Pokémon Snap is the second worst hit, seeing 62.28% sales shaved off that week whereas Monster Hunter Rise experienced only almost half of what it made the week before. Momotaro Dentetsu: Showa, Heisei, Reiwa mo Teiban! was let off with lower drop in sales week-on-week as it achieved 12,918 copies sold by the end of the week.
