The weekly sales chart for Video Games sold nationwide Japan is currently out and available for viewing here via Famitsu. Be sure to drop by and show Famitsu some love here!
Although the week between March 9 and March 15 was a pretty slow one, it was greeted by a number of new titles most noticeably the latest Nioh game which sits right at the top of the week’s chart. Nioh 2 debuted with a total sales of 91,892 copies sold in Japan, up 2% from when its prequel was made available on February 9, 2017. Nioh 1 at the time managed to sell 89,903 copies in its first week. Other new titles making into the top 10 include, Boku no Hero Academia One’s Justice 2 (No. 4) and Winning Post 9 2020 (No. 9).
Unfortunately, sales remain a little sluggish for the rest in the top 10 with most seeing a decline in sales. The biggest plunge for the week was last week’s crown, Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Rescue Team DX. Sales for the game plummeted by about 67% dropping the title a spot to number 2.
As for sales of hardware, Famitsu has noted that sales of the Nintendo Switch hardware has remained somewhat volatile amid concern of shortages. More can be read here. Anyways, I have summarized them down below:

5. Xbox One S / 27 (↓55%) (units (total sold: 92,968 units)
6. Xbox One X / 31 (↑6.45%) units (total sold: 19,059 units)
On the other hand, 2DS and 3DS are as follows:
- New 2DS LL / 1,265 units (↑3.56%) (total sold: 1,702,414 units)
- New 3DS LL / 97 (↑20.62%) units (total sold: 5,880,666 units)
