Sales of Playstation 5 machines are both up for the week as the two editions hit 37,851 units sold, seeing 41.46% and 34.92% week-on-week improvement for PS5 and PS5 Digital Edition respectively. Its predecessor, the Playstation 4 was not so lucky. Number of units sold are downed by 7% for both versions. From January 4 to date, the Playstation 5 sales have reached 214,477 units. Xbox Series too have witnessed sales increasing, with Xbox Series S jumping 66% week-on-week.

Things are not looking so hot for software as all of the titles’ sales have dropped for the week with the exception of A-Train Hajimaru Kankou Keikaku, a new title that made onto the chart at 16,179 copies sold. Super Mario 3D World + Bowser’s Fury and Animal Crossing: New Horizons both are seeing continuous drop in sales, especially the latter which is in a more precarious position, though that remains to be seen the following week.
