In Japan, hardware sales for the week are slightly mixed, with some consoles performing better than others. Sales of the vanilla edition of the Switch console dropped slightly, but sales of the other two Switch consoles increased. In total, the Switch console sold 56,543 units, up by 3.46% from the previous week, with a market share of 60.5%, the largest for the week.
Sales of the PlayStation 5 as a whole fell 11%, with the vanilla edition dragging down overall sales to 34,677 units from 38,964 units the previous week. As a result, the console made up 37.1% of the market share for the week.
The Xbox Series S saw a significant increase in sales, with a 132.33% rise from the previous week. This helped the Xbox Series record a total sales increase of 6.52%, with 621 units sold.
Sales of the PlayStation 4 were 0.59% higher than the previous week, with 1,540 units sold. However, the New 2DS LL saw a significant drop in sales, plunging 65.48% to just 29 units.

The Top 10 list for the week shows that all older releases experienced a decline in sales compared to the previous week, with one exception. The new game Winning Post 10 takes up two spots on the list with its Switch and PlayStation 5 editions, both selling a total of 20,123 copies in their first four days (26,181 copies sold if we include the PS4 edition which data just came in on April 7).
