Hardware sales were flying high for the week between June 27 and July 3 with the majority of consoles on an uptrend with Switch consoles continuing to lead the charge. In total, all of the sales of hardware combined stand at 121,401 units, a 62.29% increase week-on-week, and the Switch consoles account for 69.4% of the total sales made. Units sold for the console are up by 49.04% to 84,281 units from previous week’s 56,549 while the PlayStation 5 is the second best-selling hardware for the week at 24,361 units. As for the Sony machine, it accounts for 20.1% of the total sales, selling slightly more than 1.6 times the week before at 24,361 units. The Xbox Series sees mixed results as Series X being the only version to record a jump in sales of which it grew by 99.88% week-on-week. Series S however, is down by 31.23% to 2,774 units, putting its cumulative sales for both versions at 12,530 units, a 40.55% improvement over last week’s 8,915 units. The PlayStation 4 vanilla edition is 2 units fewer than the week before whereas New 2DS LL reported 51.77% more sales to 214 units.

At the forefront for software sales for the week is Monster Hunter Rise + Sunbreak Set at 104,315 copies sold in its first 4 days. Sunbreak is the latest expansion pack for the game that focuses on the event that sets after the defense of Kamura Village and features an all-new storyline that consists of new monsters, additional combats, the Master Rank difficulty and so much more (Source: Wikia).
