Japan Top Weekly Video Game Ranking: July 6, 2020 to July 12, 2020
Posted on
Animal Crossing: New Horizons dropped three spots in the latest weekly Video Game chart available via Famitsu here for the period between July 6 to July 12. Despite the drop in ranks, Animal Crossing: New Horizons has seen sales improving for the week. It was toppled off by Konami’s latest title, eBaseball Powerful Pro Yakyuu 2020 which occupies both 1st and 2nd spots in the chart. Together, the Switch and Playstation editions of the game sold 186,423 copies in its first week. At number 3 is Bandai’s latest addition to the Sword Art Online lineup, SWORD ART ONLINE Alicization Lycoris which debuted at 73,331 copies.
The rest of the Top 10 are familiar faces. Sales of Ring Fit Adventure is still going on a roller coaster ride for the week, it saw sales climbed more than 50% after seeing an almost 45% plunge the week before. Mario Kart 8 Deluxe is another title that has experienced a climb, while the others have dropped.
As for sales of hardware, Switch machines have recovered tremendously after a significant drop experienced the week before. Xbox One S is the other hardware which saw a jump in sales. The rest have all dropped. You may find the sales data for hardware here. Please take note that lifetime sales for Xbox One S is incorrect (refer to the post here). I have updated to the correct one. It should also be in tandem with the Half-year Sales Chart here. Anyways, they are summarized as below:
