For the most part, hardware sales for the week have reported an increase for consoles with the exception of PlayStation 5 as the drag for its Digital Edition sent total units sold (including the disc version) tumbling 5.36% to 50,358. Switch captured, as always, the largest market share at 63.1% thanks to positive growth of its Lite and OLED editions week-over-week, bringing total units sold 19.00% higher to 93,210. The Xbox Series improved 77.46% to 3,276 units while PlayStation 4 made a small gain of 0.64% to close at 789 units. New 2DS LL noted the largest rise among all the consoles here at 211.11% more than the prior week to 56 units.

Nearly all older titles on the Top 10 reported a jump in copies sold week-over-week which is very likely due to the upcoming Obon holiday set to occur from August 13 to August 15. Pikmin 4 maintains its Number 1 position with its lifetime sales nearly hitting the 600,000 mark. The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom climbed up a spot to Number 2 with lifetime sales breaching the 1.8 million copies sold.
