The hardware sales chart is mostly down week-over-week with sales of Switch consoles weakening by 18.61% in total to 86,450 units as all editions suffered a drop over last week’s performance. Nevertheless, the brand maintains its hegemony at 62% of the market share for the week, 5% lower than the week before.
Thanks to the minor increase in sales for PlayStation 5 Disc Edition, total units sold for the brand only suffered a 0.88% decrease in sales from 49,294 units to 48,858 units. With that, its lifetime sales in Japan have now crossed the 3.9 million mark. Its market share for the week has also improved to 35.1% from prior week’s 31.1%.
The Xbox Series consoles have retreated by 15.14% in total to 824 units while PlayStation 4 noted significant gains of 52.70% to close at 3,196 units for the week. New 2DS LL experienced a modest climb of 10% to 44 units with its total lifetime sales closer to the 1.2 million mark.
