Switch consoles enjoy another bounce in sales closing the week between August 9 to August 15 with 89,732 units sold, up 29.94% week-on-week. It has so far seen 3,202,328 units sold in total since January the 4th of this year. Xbox Series X and New 2DS LL both climbed around 40% to end the week on a strong note, though sales for the rest especially for PlayStation 5 consoles hit another slump falling 38.86% and 45.62% respectively for both editions. Xbox Series S could not carry the momentum of Series X as it drops 24.65% week-on-week to 434 units sold while the PlayStation 4 experiences a minor setback after previous week’s rise settling for 1,170 units sold for the week.

Sales for software remain strong this week too with most titles showing positive growth week-on-week. Momotaro Dentetsu: Showa, Heisei, Reiwa mo Teiban! leads as it records the highest improvement among all the titles on the Top 10 with 50.27% increase in sales over last week. Mario Kart 8 Deluxe at Number 4 is about to hit 4 million copies sold which should be achievable in a week or two.
There are only two titles that could not retain the momentum set by the rest, The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword HD (No. 6) and Crayon Shin-chan: Ora to Hakase no Natsuyasumi – Owaranai Nanokakan no Tabi (No. 7) experience a minor fall in sales of 2.89% and 2.64% respectively to 13,472 copies and 13,434 copies sold each. As for the latter, it is about to breach 170,000 copies sold mark and will definitely do so the following week.

The chart also welcomes a new title which have claimed the week’s top spot. Yu-Gi-Oh! Rush Duel: Saikyou Battle Royale!! debuts with 96,297 copies sold and is the second title by KONAMI to be on the chart. According to the developer, more cards would be added in future updates which can help to retain its sales a little longer.
