Sales for hardware in Japan open weak as it enters the month of September. All consoles have noted fewer units sold week-on-week with the exception of Switch Lite and New 2DS LL, which both have climbed 2.90% and 31.77% respectively. Total sales for Switch consoles are at 60,942 units, PlayStation 5 at 17,075 units whereas Xbox Series are at 2,605 units. Lifetime sales for Xbox Series have now reached 85,901 units and should hit the 100,000 mark some time in the following month. Between August 16 to August 22, sales peaked for the console to see 5,782 units sold, its best since May 16.

Software sales are a lot better for most past titles as only three titles witness a fall in copies sold week-on-week. Previous week’s bestseller, Tsukihime: A Piece of Blue Glass Moon‘s PlayStation 4 edition dropped sharply by 88% from 66,171 copies to 7,939 copies sold for the week. Its Switch edition fails to place on the Top 10 list. The biggest climber would be Super Smash Bros. Ultimate. Sales are up 11.97% to 9,697 copies for the title from 8,536 copies sold the week before. Without further ado, the full list is as follows:
