Hardware sales remained upbeat as of the week between August 28 and September 3 with all consoles reporting an improvement in sales with the exception of New 2DS LL which has fallen by 37.29% to 37 units from 59 units. The jump in units sold for Switch and its OLED counterpart have allowed it to settle comfortably at a total of 83,222 units, up by 16.07% from the week before, but its market share has dipped to 58.2% from previous week’s 60.5% amid the gains made by other brands. PlayStation 5 moved up by 21.91% to a total of 52,093 units sold to claim a slightly higher market share of 36.4% for the week. The Xbox Series noted the largest rise among all the consoles here with 94.33% more units sold from prior week’s 6,685 units.

There are no new releases on the Top 10 this time around. Pikmin 4 has again clinched the Number 1 spot as Armored Core VI: Fires of Rubicon‘s sharp decrease in units sold has caused it to slip a spot to Number 2 for its PlayStation 5 edition with 18,801 copies sold whereas its PlayStation 4 edition sits at Number 4 with 10,903 copies sold. In total, the lifetime physical sales for the series in Japan has reached 193,046 copies for its PlayStation editions and is expected to pass the 200,000 mark the following week.
