Japan Top Weekly Video Game Ranking: April 3 – April 9, 2023

During the week of April 3 to April 9, all Switch consoles experienced a week-over-week drop, with total cumulative sales declining by 7.13% to 52,510 units, compared to the previous week’s sales of 56,543 units. On the other hand, the PlayStation 5 saw an overall increase of 33.24%, with sales of 46,205 units, up from 34,677 units the previous week. As a result, Switch and PlayStation 5 claimed 52.0% and 45.8% of the market share, respectively. The Xbox Series had mixed results, with Series X sales surging by 136.86% to 739 units, while Series S sales slumped by 42.39% to 178 units. Combined, the Xbox Series consoles saw an increase of 47.67% from 621 units in the previous week to 917 units. Sales of PlayStation 4 declined by 21.36% to 1,211 units, while the New 2DS LL saw a significant increase of 120.69% to 64 units.

In the Top 10 software sales, all releases experienced a drop in sales compared to the prior week. Kirby’s Return to Dream Land Deluxe claimed the top spot with a 21.68% decrease in sales, selling 16,458 copies. Its lifetime physical sales have now reached 373,615 units. Both Resident Evil 4 editions for PlayStation are also on the list, with a total of 229,920 units sold in just 17 days. Without further ado, here is the full list:
