Due to Golden Week, Famitsu released the two-week chart instead of the weekly ranking we usually get to see. Note that, they have released the Video Game Software chart for April 26 to May 2 and May 3 to May 9, which I will be releasing separately.
There isn’t much to say since week-to-week comparison cannot be made, though sales have certainly picked up for Video Game Hardware. Sales for Switch’s vanilla edition is close to hitting 16,000,000 units sold in Japan, which is doable the following week. Likewise, the vanilla edition for PS5 too is about to reach 600,000 copies sold. Bad news is we will continue to see a shortage of the machine going all the way into 2022 (source: Forbes).
It is thanks to the wonderful folks over at Famitsu that we get to see these charts on a weekly basis, so be sure to head over to their site here and show them lots of love! All the data you find below is accessible via Famitsu right here.
