Total sales of Animal Crossing in Japan may very well exceed the 4 million mark in the week to come as its sales remain balanced going into the 3rd week of April. For the period between April 20 to April 26, it recorded 283,913 copies of sales, a slight decrease from the week before according to Famitsu’s latest chart available here.
It is thanks to Famitsu that we get to see these charts on a weekly basis, so why not head over to their site here and show them some love!
Following closely is Square Enix’s latest remake, Trials of Mana with the PS4 as well as the Switch editions coming in at number 2 and 3 respectively. In total, the title sold a combined of 150,497 copies for the two platforms. Note that, the sales figure have yet to take into account PC sales. There two new entries other than Trials of Mana including Nihon Falcom’s The Legend of Heroes: Zero no Kiseki Kai at 7 while Predator: Hunting Grounds settles for 10.
In terms of sales of hardware, Xbox One X saw the highest jump of all for the week as sales increased 87% from 22 units it sold the previous week to 177 units. If number is taken into account, Nintendo would definitely be the clear winner as it saw positive growth of above 70% of hardware sales for its two Switch editions. According to Oricon here, this may be attributable to the Gold Week which started on the 29th of April. While sales of PS4 Pro experienced an uptrend, PS4 on the other hand faced a decline. The sales of hardware is summarized as below:
