Japan Top Weekly Manga Sales Ranking: September 25 – October 1, 2023

There are no direct comparisons to Kusuriya no Hitorigoto Volume 12 amongst its volumes since Volume 6. Though the intensity has decreased for the latest volume when compared to most of its volumes. Against the most recent ones, such as Volume 9 and Volume 10 at 161,131 copies and 165,177 copies sold in their first four days, Volume 12 has performed not as great and against Volume 11, sales are nearly identical, however, more advantage is with its 11th volume at 96,639 copies sold in its first three days.

That said, the series its expecting its first Anime episode to air on October 22 which may further expose the title to more audiences. This may result in a jump in demand for the series products, particularly its Light Novel and Manga.

Kusuriya no Hitorigoto will be receiving a TV Anime series adaptation that is set to broadcast on October 22, 2023. The project will be helmed by OLM and TOHO animation STUDIO.

Ao Ashi Volume 33 maintains its lead against past volumes with four days of sales prior to its Anime broadcast. The newest volume has gained 40.08% and 30.02% more copies sold against Volume 19 and Volume 21, however, against Volume 30, which was released after its Anime ended, copies sold are down by a small 1.78%. Copies sold are also quite stable for Volume 33 against Volume 32, though the gap is apparent between it and Volume 31 which recorded 137,752 copies sold in its first six days.

Ao Ashi was adapted into a 24-episode TV Anime series by Production I.G, which aired from April to September 2022.

Berserk Volume 42 has reported a double digit decline against most of its past volumes with three days of sales since Volume 33 (with the exception of Volume 35 at 216,704 copies in its first five days). The 94,180 copies sold by its latest volume are down by almost 50% against Volume 33’s 187,002 copies and Volume 34’s 183,755 copies. Against more recent volumes such as Volume 40 and Volume 41, the difference is milder with 32.17% and 22.40% reduction in sales. Despite promising turnout of its Special Edition that comes with a figurine and an expensive price tag, the lack of sales against Volume 41 still puts the latest volume below its prior volume in terms of revenue.

Berserk Volume 42 also comes with a Special Edition that is being sold at 7,264 yen (about 50 USD) a piece which comes with a “Guts Bust Figure”.

The original author of the Manga, Kentaro Miura died at the of 54, however, the Manga continues on supervised by another Manga artist Kouji Mori with Studio Gaga responsible for the art.

The series has received numerous Anime adaptation with the latest, Berserk: Ougon Jidai-hen – Memorial Edition was broadcast from October to December 2022 by studio Studio 4°C.

The Regular Edition of Uchuu Kyoudai Volume 43 has sold 132,871 copies in its first 10 days.

Sales for Kusuriya no Hitorigoto: Maomao no Koukyuu Nazotoki Techou amongst its recent volumes with three days of sales remain stable with gains noted by its 17th volume against Volume 11 and Volume 14 by 7.01% and 3.28%. Against Volume 13, copies sold have dwindled by 8.45%. Like its main Manga at Number 2 for the week, the title may see greater demand for its volumes once the Anime has begun its broadcast.

Kuubo Ibuki: Great Game Volume 11 has recorded a 20.69% decline in copies sold against Volume 5 with 44,907 copies sold in its first four days as well. Against its more recent volumes, the latest volume has noted a slight decrease in sales, especially against Volume 10’s 45,824 copies sold in its first six days.

Kujou no Taizai Volume 9 has risen by 5.22% against Volume 8’s 30,421 copies sold in its first four days. There is also a very high chance that if Volume 9 were to chart a day longer, it may have overtaken sales of Volume 7, however, not sales of Volume 5 (both in five days). Debut sales have remain fairly positive for the series since its 3rd volume.

Kajiya de Hajimeru Isekai Slow Life was last seen selling 24,380 copies for its 3rd volume in its first three days back in August 2022.

Kinnikuman Volume 83 has reported 8.61% more sales against the three-day sales of Volume 82 which could be a knee-jerk reaction from the announcement of its new Anime project which is set to happen in 2024. That said, copies sold for its latest volume are still down against most volumes with three days of sales, for instance Volume 69 and Volume 72 both recorded 39.81% and 34.00% more sales than Volume 83.

Kinnikuman was adapted into a 137-episode TV Anime series by Toei Animation in April 1983. Since then, it has received several film and TV sequel adaptations, such as the Ubawareta Championship Belt movie in July 1984 and the 46-episode sequel Kinnikusei Oui Soudatsu-hen. To celebrate its 40th anniversary, the series will receive a new Anime adaptation to be produced by studio Production I.G and is set to broadcast in 2024.

Kindaichi 37-sai no Jikenbo Volume 14 has sold 53,171 copies in its first 10 days.

Isekai Ojisan Volume 10 has sold 67,118 copies in its first 10 days.

Jujutsu Kaisen Volume 23 has reached 1,344,781 copies sold within its first 90 days.

Keikenchi Chochiku de Nonbiri Shoushin Ryokou was last seen on COMIC ZIN’s list with its 3rd volume, but not in its first three days, but in the next seven days. Unfortunately, the volume did not place on Oricon’s Top 30 sales chart during its debut nor in the next seven days of release.

Kidou Senshi Gundam MSV-R: Johnny Ridden no Kikan was last seen making it onto Oricon’s Top 30 sales chart with its 24th volume at 21,243 copies sold in its first six days back in September 2022. The series’ 25th volume was nowhere to be found on any of the lists the Blog tracks during its debut.

Ansatsusha de Aru Ore no Status ga Yuusha yori mo Akiraka ni Tsuyoi no da ga last made its appearance with the pre-release sales of its 4th volume on TSUTAYA’s list between July 18 to July 24, 2022. The volume unfortunately did not make it onto either TSUTAYA nor Oricon’s Top 30 list in its official seven days of release the week after.
