Analysis
Considering the relatively short days of sales Volume 104 has, it is not surprising that it would sell fewer copies than the past two volumes. Volumes 102 and 103 were charted at Oricon’s Top 30 sales charts at 1,050,333 copies and 1,275,743 copies in their first 7 days and 4 days. Making this latest performance of the series way stronger than Volume 102. In addition, when compared to its other past volumes with 3 days of sales, Volume 104 has performed quite well. Against Volumes 94 and 100, it marked a 1.14% and 0.35% decline in sales, however, against Volumes 96, 99 and 101, it sold more copies by 9.18%, 11.17% and 18.45%.
Additional Comments
One Piece recently saw the launch of its latest move, One Piece Film: Red to great success, driving up sales through Toei Animation and stimulating the sales of its other related products which can also be observed in Bandai Namco Holdings’ recent performance report. The film was released domestically on August 6, 2022, to which it has already earned 17,300 million yen (≈121.94 million USD) in box office revenue. Analysis
The latest physical sales performance of Ballroom e Youkoso is not looking so hot when compared to its past four volumes, all in their first 3 days. Volume 12 witnessed a 46.38%, 48.20%, 37.52% and 10.11% drop against Volumes 8 to 11. Seeing the gap that it has between its newest volume and its last, plus the absence of a new Anime season, it would seem that it has run out of momentum. However, the volume may see a rise in sales the week after.
Additional Comments
Note that Volume 11 was released back in April 16, 2021, therefore, there is a 1 year and slightly more than six months gap between the last volume and the latest volume.
