This could be one of the series’ poorest turnout post-Anime with copies sold down significantly in its first 3 days when pitted against the 3-day sales of Volume 16 which sold 1,165,681 copies. Looking back at its performance prior to its Anime adaptation, yes, the volume indeed performs much stronger than the 3-day sales of Volume 13 by about 300%, however, its momentum has been steadily on a decline since around Volume 19. Its 18th volume also sold way more than Volume 21 in its first 2 days at 789,861 copies.
Additional Comments
In 2020, studio MAPPA adapted the work into a 24-episode TV Anime series and in December 2021, its prequel title, Jujutsu Kaisen 0: Tokyo Toritsu Jujutsu Koutou Senmon Gakkou was adapted into a film by the same studio. A follow up season will appear in 2023, however, the exact dates of its broadcast is still unknown.

When compared to its other volumes with 3 days of sales, the series’ performance is rather flat, gaining 0.13% against the 40,659 copies sold for Volume 5, but noted a 5.18% drop against Volume 4’s 42,934 copies. Copies sold for Volume 8 would also not have surpassed Volume 6’s 62,209 copies sold amid lower average per day sales.

Analysis
Physical sales for Mashle in Japan are not looking so good with the entrance of its latest and 14th volume. The 3-day sales are down against Volumes 6, 9 and 10 by 44.40%, 41.92% and 39.75%. Despite the low turnout, there is a great chance that physical sales performance would bounce back much stronger the week after.

Mashle will be adapted into a TV Anime series set for broadcast in 2023 and will be produced by A-1 Pictures.

Jujutsu Kaisen tops the weekly series sales charts as its latest and 21st volume made its entrance on the Manga sales chart, sitting atop with 568,006 copies sold in its first 3 days. Spearheaded by its Manga department, total sales which also include Video and Music segments were at 316.89 million yen (≈3.15 million USD).
Coming in right after is The Idolmaster series at 165.69 million yen (≈1.64 million USD), largely thanks to the release of THE IDOLM@STER MILLION LIVE! 8th LIVE Twelw@ve LIVE Blu-ray COMPLETE THE@TER [Limited Release] that sold 5,438 copies in its first 5 days. Heavily concentrated on its Video segment, total sales for the week were also inclusive of its Music and Manga segments.
Finally, we have Chainsaw Man slipping to the 3rd spot (from previous week’s 1st) to 138.96 million yen (≈1.38 million USD) with Chainsaw Man Volume 12 being its best product. Total sales also take into consideration its Music, Books and Novels segments. All in all, total sales from September 26 to December 4 now stand at 1,820.16 million yen (≈18.07 million USD).
