It is thanks to the amazing folks over at Oricon that we get to see these charts on a weekly basis, so be sure to head over to their site here and show them lots of love! In addition, all the data you find below is accessible via Oricon right here (Manga) and here (Series). To access the sales data, be sure to click on the “Analytics” accordion and then click “Chart”. This should bring you to the Google chart page that contains the latest available sales data. Many of the titles that you see below have been discussed in the TSUTAYA’s sales chart for the same week, so do have a look at it right here. Some titles that did not make it onto the Top 30 chart were also discussed in the COMIC ZIN’s chart here.
Without further ado, the full Top 30 is as follows:
Manga Weekly Top 30
1. Jujutsu Kaisen Vol. 21 (↓39.83%) by Gege Akutami
Release Date: December 2, 2022 Days of Sales: 7 Price: 500 yen Publisher: Shueisha Estimated number of copies sold: 341,742 Link (JPN):Vol.21
Jujutsu Kaisen Volume 21 was down by 40.14% to 909,748 copies against Volume 16’s 1,519,819 copies sold, both in their first 10 days. The latest performance also marks a much weaker turnout against Volume 18 which was able to push out 1,321,226 copies as of its 9th day. Although Volume 21 maintains a much larger advantage against the 10-day sales of its 13th volume (which sold 247,471 copies), that is before its Anime adaptation was aired.
2. Tensei shitara Slime Datta Ken Vol. 22 [Regular Edition] (NEW) by (Story) Fuse and (Art) Taiki Kawakami
Release Date: December 8, 2022 Days of Sales: 4 Price: 680 yen Publisher: Kodansha Estimated number of copies sold: 252,557 Link (JPN):Vol.22
Serialization:ShounenSirius Serialization Date: Mar. 26, 2015 Official Web Page:Here Chapter 1 (JPN):Here
When compared to its past volumes with 4 days of sales, Volume 22’s performance is only down by a small 2.79% against Volume 19’s 290,157 copies sold. The 282,056 copies sold by Volume 22 (including its Special Edition at Number 13) is still above Volumes 15, 18 and 21 by 12.22%, 9.24% and 10.85%. It also performed much better than Volume 12 and 13’s 255,098 copies and 245,001 copies in their first 6 days and 5 days.
The title was also adapted into TV Animeseries by studio 8bit with the first season airing in 2019, and a split-cour released in 2021. It recently received an original film titled “Guren no Kizuna-hen” that hit theatres across Japan on November 25, 2022.

Volume 30’s 86,034 is its best outcome thus far among its volumes with 4 days of sales. It sold 11.57%, 10.51% and 14.04% more than Volumes 22, 26 and 29. The latest volume has also outpaced Volumes 16, 18, 19, 20, 22 and 27 which made their debuts with longer days of sales.
The 18th volume’s Special Edition unfortunately did not rank even on the Top 50. With a cutoff point of about 15,800 copies, it would have sold less than that. If copies sold for the Special Edition went above the 10,000 mark, it will hold an advantage over Volume 13’s 61,695 copies, but will still be lower than the 93,123 copies sold for Volume 12, both in their first 3 days.
The volume also has a Special Edition priced at 1,000 yen(≈7.31 USD) that comes with three clear cards.
Note that this is Kawaii dake ja Nai Shikimori-san worst performance among its volumes with 3 days of sales. The 25,057 copies sold for Volume 16 is only 4.55% less than Volume 14, however, the gap is wider when compared to Volumes 6 to 11 and 14.
The strong sales posted by Tensei shitara Slime Datta Ken’s 22nd Manga volume helped push the series to claim the top spot on Oricon’s weekly series sales chart as it narrowly eclipsed Onna no Sono no Hoshi that placed 2nd, and like the first, was driven mainly by sales of its Manga. Both titles’ gross earnings were also further fortified by their Special Edition releases as noted in the above chart with Tensei shitara Slime Datta Ken’s version costing much less than Onna no Sono no Hoshi. As a result, the two titles witnessed sales worth 289.35 million yen(≈2.11 million USD) and 285.21 million yen(≈2.08), respectively. However, Onna no Sono no Hoshi performed way better Manga-wise since total sales for the week for the series was only inclusive of the segment whereas Tensei shitara Slime Datta Ken had its sales derived from all segments (Video, Music, Books, Novels and Manga) with Manga being its largest contributor.
Slam Dunk made its presence known at Number 3 at a total of 252.99 million yen(≈2.51 million USD) in sales with Slam Dunk Volume 20 [Collector’s Edition] being its best product for the week. Its emergence here is no surprise considering the release of its film, The First Slam Dunk, had just been released on December 3, 2022, spurring demand for its Manga. As of its 9th day the film had brought in 3 billion yen(≈29.71 million USD) in box office revenue with over 2.02 million audiences having already watched the film (see AnimeAnime, cross ref. eiga.com).
